Locations Level 50 - 80
These are the earliest levels that you can start farming in Everquest and are the easiest locations to make plat. I'm not suggesting that during these levels you'll make some good money by stopping and hunting enemies - but if you're having trouble leveling because you need to buy some gear for your characters or spells - there's a few locations I can recommend you farm for a day or two to make some plat.
Note: All of the locations mentioned in this section are extremely easy. Someone whose Free to Play with no AAs and only a few pieces of Defiant Gear can hunt at all of these locations.

Locations sorted by difficulty (easiest first):
Rathe Hill Giants - Everyone who plays EQ should be familiar with this location. This location is the easiest farming location you'll come across in EQ. On live servers you'll rarely see anyone here farming these guys so it's a good location to stock up on some plat. Don't expect to get rich hunting here, expect maybe 3 - 5k an hour.
Ocean of Tears Cyclops - If the Rathe Hill Giants are the easiest farming location in the game, this is the second easiest. It's also a lot more antisocial than the Rathe Hill Giants, not many people have reason to come to OoT anymore. The Cyclops you'll want to farm are found on Seafury Isle and drop a decent amount of plat per kill in addition to gems that you can sell in The Bazaar.
City of Mist - This zone is found just off Emerald Jungle and it'll be pretty tough for you if you're level 50 without a group. If you're between the levels of 50 - 70 I'd recommend only come here if you're boxing or twinked out the butt. In this zone you'll get a decent amount of raw plat from mobs, defiant gear (including the extra valuable Intricate Defiant) along with an extremely dense mob population.. Meaning large pulls if you can handle them/AoE farming.
Old Sebilis - A little bit harder than City of Mist but even better money. Again, players between the levels 50 - 70 probably won't make the best plat here unless they've got a group or are boxing a few characters. If you're 70 - 80 you'll likely be able to AoE farm this place and get 10k + an hour.
Dulak's Harbor - The enemies you find in this zone will be lower level than Old Sebilis but they'll likely hit you harder since this zone is 5 expansions ahead of Dulak's Harbor. The mobs here don't drop as much trash loot as Old Seb/City of Mist but you can expect an extremely dense population of humanoid enemies that a level 70-80 could annihilate.
Wurmslayer Quest - This is a rather easy quest to do for an extremely valuable twink weapon. I can sell this item for 2mil plat on Firiona Vie (about half a krono) within two weeks of listing it for sale in The Bazaar. I can't say if it'll sell this well and this fast on every server, but it's one of the best twink weapons you can get.
Lodizal Shell Shield Quest - Depending on your server, this may be a complete waste of your time or worth your time. TLP players will find this camp worth doing until Defiant Gear comes out in SoF. Once that happens, it's likely that this won't be worth doing anymore.

If you find some of these locations too difficult I highly recommend that you start boxing an extra character or two. There is no better way to increase how much plat you can make an hour than leveling up your own 6 box team and boxing current expansion locations.
With programs like Isboxer or Macroquest2 boxing is accessible to every player in the game and it'll allow you to do anything you want in the game without having to find a group or bug people for help. If you're interested in boxing, read my Boxing Guides to get started and have the entire process broken down for you bit by bit. (Note: Both of these programs are not allowed on True Box servers)
There's also more to farm than just plat in Everquest! The Omens of War expansion adds in permanent resist increases, Dragons of Norrath adds in a lot of passive permanent boosts and when Call of the Forsaken Hits, completing all of an expansions progression tasks will reward you with Hero's AAs. For more information about all of these permanent passive increases and how to obtain them head over to my Permanent Stat Boosts Guide.
Finally, the last thing worth mentioning is that there's also different clickies that you can get for your character that'll be forever useful. Overhaste clickies like Ancestral memories or the Circle of Power clickies. Even a Haste clicky for melee characters that don't box an Enchanter can be pretty nice. Head on over to my Useful Clickies Farming Guide for more information about what clickies you can farm and from where.
