Burning Steppes Ogres Runecloth Farming Location (Classic - WoTLK)

Another one of the popular farming locations in Burning Steppes is the Firegut Ogres at Dreadmaul Rock. Much like with the Blackrock Orcs in the zone the reason that these ogres are so commonly farmed is because of how squishy and low level they are. Classes that deal physical damage such as Rogues, Warriors and Hunters will tear through these enemies like a hot knife through butter.

You'll find the Firegut ogres surrounding the entire mountain of Dreadmaul Rock as well as inside of it. There are technically three caves on this mountain but only two of them contain ogres inside of them. One cave entrance is at the base of the mountain on the southern end and the second entrance is on the northern side of the mountain, up on the mountain itself.

Both of these caves are filled with ogres and if you're playing on a PvP server make a pretty good spot to hide and farm at the same time. If you get bored of farming the ogres, you can always head over to the Blackrock Orc Farming Location which is nearby. Alternatively you can also run around the zone and farm the Solid Chests in Burning Steppes; this becomes even more profitable if you have a gathering profession.

Those of you with Herbalism or Mining will be able to make a lot of extra money from farming in this zone. Rich Thorium, Small Thorium and Mithril can spawn all throughout the ogre caves as well as throughout the zone and make Miners a pretty penny. Herbalists will find Mountain Silversage, Dreamfoil, Sungrass and if they get super lucky a Black Lotus!

For those of you interested in the best route to follow through Burning Steppes for both chest farming and for Mining/Herbalism I recommend you use my Burning Steppes Herbalism Farming Guide or Burning Steppes Mining Farming Guide. Both of those pages have a picture detailing the best route through the zone.
