Harvest Moon Magical Melody Quick Money Early On

This guide will go over the best way to make quick money early on. Generally within the first year or two, I want to stress that because there will be better ways to make money later. The thing you will want to start out doing in Magical Melody is growing crops. Pretty much the same thing as with all Harvest Moons. You'll want to raise crops for two reasons, first is because they are super easy and second because they will help you raise your Watering Can skill level.

Raising your Watering Can is the most important thing early on because in both Summer and Fall have extremely profitable crops that continue to grow once picked. In Spring you'll want to grow whatever you feel like, I usually do Potatoes that way I can give them to the mayor to raise his heart level. This will enable you to buy land later on. You'll want to read more about this in my Land Guide . You'll want to buy some land near your starting location or in an easy to get to location before Summer or early on in Summer. Then you'll want to load that whole field with crops and upgrade your Watering Can to the highest level you can, preferably Harvest Goddess.

Now, for making money what you'll want to do is dependant on the season. During the very first Spring I recommend you grow Turnips and Potatoes. For Summer what you will want to do is grow Tomatoes and Corn. In the Fall you'll want to grow Bell Peppers and Eggplant. Also I very strongly recommend you plant Pumpkins on the 18th - 20th that way you can throw one into the pin at the end of Fall for the Pumpkin Festival. This is very important to do since it will get you a Power Berry!

The main reason I have chosen these crops for each month is because they are renewable meaning they'll give you multiple harvests. This greatly cuts down on the overall labor since you aren't constantly planting new seeds and each patch of crops will make you ten thousand or more depending on when you plant them during the month. Keep in mind too that in Magical Melody you can use Fertilizer on the ground which will increase the value of the crops that grow in those places. Fertilizer isn't for sale from the store at first though, you have to do some work in order to unlock it! If you'd like to know all about that I strongly recommend checking out my Fertilizer Guide!

If you are too lazy to head over to that page, you can unlock Fertilizer in Magical Melody by heading to the mine and smashing the rocks there for Limestone. Once you ship 10 Limestone you'll get an ingame mail from Liz who tells you Fertilizer is now for sale at her shop! If you have any other questions check out my Fertilizer guide, I go into more detail there.

For your first year I highly recommend you focus on primarily growing crops until Winter comes. Then you'll want to head into the mine and unlock Fertilizer. Once you've done that you'll be able to make an unbelievable amount of money the second year.

You've probably gotten the hang of making money now but I will give you a bit more helpful advice. As aforementioned in the Winter time of the first year you'll want to head into the mine. While you're here grab a few of the ores and such and throw them into a shelf in your home. Hang onto them to upgrade your tools the following year with all the money you've been making. You'll easily be able to level any tools quickly using my Tool Leveling Guide if you have a tool that is far behind.

Once Spring Year 2 rolls around you will want to grab a Chicken Coop as well as a Barn. Place them on land nearby where you live since you'll be going to these places each day. For the Barn I recommend only getting Sheep if you want money. They require less labor than cows and produce quite a bit of money on their own.

For Spring of the second year I recommend Strawberries. The reason we're only doing a renewable crop the second year during Spring is because by now you should have a really good Watering Can and your Gardening Hoe probably doesn't need to be upgraded anymore.

For Summer and Fall you'll want to continue the same routine you did the previous year. It'll be labor intensive with all those crops + animals but it'll generate you insane amounts of gold. For the future years what I did is mostly planted a bunch of fruit trees all around town and maintained my animals + picked whatever was in season throughout my town.
