Anemos Inner Sanctum Walkthrough - Golden Sun: The Lost Age

Anemos Inner Sanctum is the final dungeon of Golden Sun: The Lost Age and in order to enter you'll need all 72 Djinn. This means you must have collected all of the Djinn in this game as well as all of the Djinn in the first Golden Sun title. Once you've 'caught them all' it's time to head over to Contigo and use Teleport on the symbol in the middle of town.

When you use Teleport on the symbol in Contigo you'll be transported to the first room of this dungeon. In each corner you'll find a tree of life design, when you step on the tree it will illuminate the light on the door if you have all the Djinn of that type. If you don't have all the Djinn it will show you how many you're missing (1 missing light = 1 missing Djinni).

Once you illuminate all four lights you'll open the door that leads into Anemos Inner Sanctum. The first room of this dungeon will reward you with the Charon summon. Charon is the second best summon in the game, the best is the one that we get for finishing this dungeon.

After picking up Charon go down the stairs and continue through the linear rooms until you reach the same room shown in my screenshot below. This is the first puzzle room of the dungeon.

Anemos Inner Sanctum First Puzzle Room

For this puzzle, the block will mimic your movements and your goal is to move in such a way that you and the block reach the opposite side. Have the block move over top of the switch and you'll open up the door that leads deeper into the dungeon. Proceed through the next few areas and push the pillar over when you find it to create a shortcut.

The next room that you come across that requires some thinking will have 7 lights on the ground that you need to step on. Doing this will activate the elevator in the room and let you ride it to the next floor. Push the pillar that you see into the hole to create another shortcut and then continue along the linear route to the stairs.

In the next area you'll find a small strip of sand that you can use the Sand Psynergy on - however we can't use this shortcut just yet. Backtrack a little from here and go down the stairs to find a chest in a dead end room; inside the chest you'll find Dark Matter. The next puzzle room will have many cracked floor tiles which we must navigate across. If you fall through the floor you'll fall into this room with the Dark Matter chest.

Use my picture below if you need help navigating the next puzzle room, follow my red line for the correct path. The goal in this room is to step on all of the lights to activate the elevator; you have to do all of this without falling through the floor.

Follow the red line across the floor tiles

Just like always, after you complete the puzzle and ride the elevator up you'll want to push the pillar into place (now we can use Sand to skip that room) and continue up the stairs. Keep going through the rooms until you come across a room with a boulder blocking an intersection and a pillar off to the right (pictured below). Use your Lift Psynergy on the boulder to pick it up and get under it.

For right now you'll want to go south of this boulder, there isn't much we can do with all of the pillars in this area, we'll get to them in a bit. Exit this room to the south and head through the various rooms until you reach another one of those moving block puzzles. This one is a bit more complicated than the previous puzzle.

The second moving block puzzle will have a green pyramid rock in the middle of the room, we'll need to use this rock to properly position the moving rock. There are a few different ways to do this but my favorite is to get the moving block stuck on top of the green pyramid thing. This will let you run south while the block is stuck in place, this gives your character the extra room he needs to easily maneuver the block onto the switch.

Exit this room to the north and move the pillar into the far right divot; that's all we can do for now - backtrack to the boulder and use Lift on it again. You may have noticed that this entire time we've been moving pillars to make a path for this final pillar (pictured below).

In this room our goal is to move the pillar on the right all the way over to the switch on the left while the boulder is still floating. You will have to jump across the platform areas we cleared and circle around to do this. Once you push the pillar onto the switch the door in the northwest will open and you can proceed deeper into the dungeon.

The next puzzle room we come across is going to have another one of those moving block puzzles. Despite how this puzzle looks, it's actually really easy. I'll give you a step by step below in list format to help you out.

Moving Block Puzzle #3 Steps:

1. Get the moving block stuck on the south side of the green pyramid block
2. Run straight north to the green pyramid block above Felix (the moving block should be stuck and not moving)
3. Move the 'moving block' around the green pyramid block that it's stuck on; you want to move it around the block and get it stuck on the northern side of the green pyramid block
4. Once the moving block is stuck on the top of the green pyramid block you'll want to run south again until you're just touching the green pyramid block south of Felix
5. From this position you will be able to navigate the moving block around the holes on its side and onto the switch

After completing this puzzle go straight through the door in front of you, this will lead you to a dead end with a chest that contains Orihalcon. You may fall into this room if you fail the next puzzle, backtrack to the last fork and go right. This takes you to a room with some cracked floor tiles and multiple paths.

Anemos Platform Puzzle Room

Start by going left only use 3 tiles when you to the left - hug the corner and this should be easy. Follow the route all the way around until you find a pillar that you can push with Move. Return to the central path and go down this, you can avoid the tiles you just cracked by doing this. Exit the central area to the right, since you used Move on the pillar you can now get under the obstacles by using Sand.

Follow the linear path and push the next pillar that is blocking the exit to the room in the north. This will free up a future short cut too. Keep going north and you'll come across the final room of the dungeon. At first the puzzle will look confusing since there are 6 pieces that you need to move around, but the gray tiles on the floor show you which pieces go where.

What you need to do is position all 6 pieces to make an outline of a bird. This will activate the hover panel on this platforms and let you use Hover on it to fly up to the next boss. Once you use Hover on this platform you'll fly up to the next boss, so make sure you're 100% ready - read below for more information.

The next boss of this dungeon is named Dullahan and he is the hardest boss in the game. He's so difficult that you can't beat him through normal means, you have to do a summon rush tactic to win the fight. To do this, you'll want to put every single Djinn that you have onto Standby. You'll want to do this for every single one of your characters too, not just the main battle party.

Your main battle party is likely going to die during this fight and you're going to win with a few characters alive in your second battle party. The boss is kind of designed that way, he does a ton of damage each round and he will also use Charon occasionally which will wipe out your entire party.

If you're low level then you'll probably need to equip special items and employ a very unique strategy to beat Dullahan. This strategy is called the summon rush, but I mean something even more unique than that. I mean very specific summons and very specific gear to ensure you'll survive.

Level your team up until they're all 45 or so and you will make this fight a bit easier. Your team is still going to mostly die on you but at least now you'll not have to swap out to oddly specific gear. There are two strategies that seem to work for most parties...

1. Party 1 uses Venus + Jupiter and summons Charon twice and Thor twice. The second team uses Mars + Mercury and summons Ulysses as many times as they can.
2. Party 1 uses Venus + Mars and summons Daedalus multiple times. On the second team you'll use Jupiter + Mercury to summon Eclipse as many times as you need.

Assuming that your characters are high enough level to deal good damage with their summons, you can beat the boss by blowing him up with all the summons you have. Don't drag the fight on too long and victory will be yours. Beating this boss will earn you the Iris summon. This is the most powerful summon in the game which makes sense since this is the hardest boss in the game!
