Plane of Fire - Post Mercenary Leveling Guide

Plane of Fire Northern Area

Plane of Fire has plenty of different options for players between the levels of 60 - 75. There's field killing, dungeon crawling and one of the best and most memorable kiting locations in the whole game! If you've been following my guide up until this point you've used the Journeyman Tank Merc to do most of the killing.

Depending on your class/group make up you may want to start switching things up at this point. If you're a class that melees you should probably pick up a healer mercenary and raise your defense as well as other essentials to prepare for the huge difficulty spikes still ahead.

Even if you aren't a melee class you'll still want to raise your defense a bit that way you can take a punch later on in the game - it's extremely important!! Basically every 'easy' pull you'll want to run in and take a few hits from the enemy. Not enough to trigger low HP agro but enough to hopefully get a skill up or two.

Anyway, as far as PoFire goes the first area you zone in at is Field 1 and is good for players 60 - 65. In the picture above the "city" looking thing to the left is City 1, aka c1. This area can be reached by going through the lava tunnel to the north or using Levitate and floating down into C1 from the mountain overlook nearby.

C1 is a great location for players 60 - 65 as well, much better than the first field. You can stay at this location all the way to level 70 if you want to and then you can move south to C2 which will easily take you to 75. Or if you'd like live on the dangerous side you can go to C2 earlier at 65 and bail from PoFire altogether at 70 instead.

Plane of Fire Southern Area

The picture above shows Field 2, City 2 and the legendary tables that people kite around. The tables area is a very nice wide open area that has about a dozen or so mobs you can pull single. Inside city 2 it can be a bit intense at times with some of the larger pulls but it's one of the best EXP spots in PoP.

Field 2 is a bit more tough than City 2 and I can't really recommend you hunt Field 2 unless you're an SK who can pull a ton of enemies through swarming or something similar to that. City 2 has all the mobs you could possibly need and they're a lot less annoying than the enemies you'll find in Field 2.

As far as the loot in this zone goes, you'll want to hang onto any gems you find as they're the most valuable vendor trash that you can find. Cultural Ore, Marrow and Spinnerets are worth vendoring too but you'll want to save the Cultural Silk, Ore and other mats. Sunshard Ore is worth saving too - to sell in The Bazaar or to a barter by typing /bar.

Additional Information

- Players can reach Plane of Fire through the crystal in southern Plane of Tranqulity that's in a building which is built atop the ocean.

- If you're having trouble managing your Inventory Space I highly recommend you invest in some Extraplanar Trade Satchels which are 32 Slot Tradeskill Bags. Alternatively you could also buy Unexpanded Tailored Backpacks as well. Though, the Backpacks will likely be more expensive. Follow the links provided to learn more about each item.

- If you need more plat while leveling I strongly recommend you check out my How to make more plat while leveling by Bartering Guide. It'll give you a list of all the different items you should be keeping an eye out for to Barter/Sell!
