Plane of Tactics - PoP Leveling Guide

Drunder, the Fortress of Zek or more commonly called Plane of Tactics is one of the higher level PoP zones that doesn't require any flagging to enter. This zone is pretty large with many different camps. The best camp in this zone is arguably the field area which is in the central portion of the zone. We'll get to that in a bit.

First up, let's take a look at the picture above which is of the upper floors of Plane of Tactics. As you can see marked on my map above there's two names in red and two spots marked 'Raid Boss'. The Raid Bosses that you'll find are Tallon and Vallon Zek. They both have extremely wide open rooms and if they're up enter their room will agro them so be careful!

As if some cruel joke both the raid bosses have named enemies which have a chance of spawning in their rooms. The nameds also patrol outside of their rooms as well which will give you an opportunity to kill them if the raid boss is up. The northern most named is Anival the Blade and the southern most named is Shadow Master Vinta.

Plane of Tactics' named enemies have a chance of dropping all sorts of different Ornate Patterns which are used for the PoP Class Armor Quests. For more information about the quests and/or if you'd just like to see a drop list of all the Ornate Patterns follow the link!

From the central floor of Plane of Tactics you can only go up more (to the green area on the map above with even harder enemies) or down to the field area as well as the rest of the locations in the map found below. From what I know there are no named enemies in the upper most portion that has the green outline on the map.

The enemies in the upper most green portion have an extremely annoying knock back - they hit harder than the rest of the enemies in the zone and they have slightly different loot tables. Instead of moving up let's go down to some of the best camps that you can find in the Plane of Tactics!

The map above shows you all of the camps on the lower floor of Drunder, Fortress of Zek. The main camp that probably everyone who comes to this zone knows about is The Field. You can reach this place by dropping down from the walk way above or by traveling down the stairs like a normal person.

North of the field you have one of the better named camps in the zone which contains The Diaku Supplier as well as The Diaku Armorer. The Supplier doesn't do anything really unique but the Armorer gates which can be really annoying.

Just north of the last two mentioned named enemies you'll find Tagrin Malgric, one of the mini raid bosses that you'll find in this zone. There's another mini raid boss named Glykus Helmir which you'll find all the way at the southern most portion of the map area above.

Tagrin Maldric: This is the harder of the two mini raid nameds.

Glykus Helmir: This is the easier of the two mini raid nameds. He can be taken down with a well geared/played 6 box. He summons boars which can be mezzed/CC'd during the encounter on someone in your group.

With all of that out of the way, let's take a look at the field location of this zone. In truth this area resembles a gladiator pit more than anything else. For players strictly looking for EXP this is most likely the best location in the zone for you to grind. There are a large assortment of enemies here, the best spot to make camp I have found is against the southeastern most wall.

Check all of the loot that drops here and I recommend holding onto things that are used in Tradeskills. Also, the Gold tipped Boar Horn that drops here is something you might want to grab to either use or sell in The Bazaar. It's used in the Aid Fimli quest which you get from Plane of Knowledge.

Neither of these nameds really offer up much of a challenge.

Depending on what your goal is when coming to Plane of Tactics determines where you'll want to make camp at. If you're coming here for the best loot and the best EXP I can't think of any better place to recommend than the Field.
