HoT Leveling Guide - The Library

House of Thule's The Library should be treated mostly as a "dungeon crawl" type of zone. This entire zone is packed with enemies from top to bottom and there are very few safe locations for you to camp or to pull too. Due to this I decided to break the zone down into three distinct sections.

The first part of this guide is going to cover what's shown in the picture above. As you can see on the map above there's two named enemies in the second room that you come across within the zone. One roams around the room and the other is static. The safest place to fight either of these nameds would be in the hallway to the west or north of their room. It's the safest spot to fight the nameds - away from respawns.

Curator Majda: Kinked Mask of Preservation, Majda's Empowered Visor of Preservation, Alluring Ivory Dagger (Wrist Visible)

Tome of the Fallen: Brazen Mask of Sentience, Brazen Faceguard of the Fallen, Locket of Living Legends (Head Visible)

North of these two named enemies you'll find a room with a bookshelf type of maze as well as an additional named spawn, Professor Glumb. If you're trying to run straight through this zone with Invis up - this is usually the first room that I end up encountering see invis enemies. The safest spot to fight the named is ontop the quest NPC, Tarlyn Caelith.

Professor Glumb: Fragile Trinket of Command, Glumb's Trinket of Tactical Cowardice, Ancient Inscribed Shield (Feet Visible)

After defeating the named you can go up the stairs nearby to reach the second floor of The Library. (Directions to skip the First floor altogether) In order for you to proceed to the second floor of The Library you'll need to make your way to the northern part of my picture above; zig zag through the bookshelf maze nearby where it says Professor Glumb and then travel up the stairs which have Ardull the Watcher marked on them.

This floor is the easiest of the floors since the enemies here are much more spaced out than the rest of the zone. On the far right end of the map above you'll see my little blue circle. This is where you can find your way up to the third and final floor of the zone.

You'll find the following named enemies throughout the second floor of The Library:

Ardull the Watcher:

Archivist Herrdar:

While you're traveling up the long spiral staircase there's actually a named you can kill as well. It's not shown on any of my map locations since it would have created more clutter on the page than anything. The named is Chronicler Cerro.

Chronicler Cerro:

Finally at the tippy top of The Library you'll find the largest room of all! This is actually my favorite spot to camp in the entire zone - it's a really hard camp in era since the nameds up here aren't really easy ones and the enemies are slightly higher level too. I like coming back here during RoF though at level 100 and just rolling the place.

The best spot to camp is in the center of the room but if you'd like a relatively safe location for logging out/brief AFKs then use the hallway to the north of the room. It's the same location you can see me and my group parked on the map above.

Here's both nameds and what they drop:

Compendium of Nightmares:

Head Librarian Matilda:

There you have it! That's everything you need to know about The Library. This zone will be light blue and dark blue to players at level 100 and light blue/green at level 105. Due to the mob density and types of mobs it actually makes a better zone in later expansions once you can slay everything easily than it does in HoT.

Additional Information

- Players can find The Library in the western portion of House of Thule, The Lower Floors. For more information on how to reach the HoT zones as well as The Library check out my guide.

- If you're having trouble managing your Inventory Space I highly recommend you invest in some Extraplanar Trade Satchels which are 32 Slot Tradeskill Bags. Alternatively you could also buy Unexpanded Tailored Backpacks as well. Though, the Backpacks will likely be more expensive. Follow the links provided to learn more about each item.

- If you need more plat while leveling I strongly recommend you check out my How to make more plat while leveling by Bartering Guide. It'll give you a list of all the different items you should be keeping an eye out for to Barter/Sell!
