Alchemy Formulas - Secret of Evermore

Acid Rain
Effect: Damages Enemies
Location: Prehistoria; Acid Rain Man.
After defeating Thraxx, make your way across the stone ledges until you are above the cavern where you obtain the Jaguar Teeth. Then, travel to the right, past the four unopened containers, and onto the next screen. The alchemist there will teach you Acid Rain.

Atlas
Effect: Increases Strength temporarily.
Location: Antiqua; Nobillia Inn.
In Nobillia, enter the inn through the right door. A spider should walk behind the crates in the northeast corner of the room. Follow it to be chased back by an alchemist who will teach you the spell.

Barrier
Effect: Restores some HP and prevents physical attacks.
Location: Antiqua; Nobillia Castle
In Nobillia, enter the inn through the right door. A spider should walk behind the crates in the northeast corner of the room. Follow it to be chased back by an alchemist who will teach you the spell.

Call Up
Effect: Adds a Call Bead to your Inventory.
Location: Omnitopia; Dr. Ruffleburg
Dr. Sidney Ruffleburg teaches the formula to you automatically when you meet him in Omnitopia for the first time.

Corrosion
Effect: Deals between 9-21 damage, then between 4-10 damage every 2 seconds. Automatically targets everything on the screen.
Location: Gothica; Ebon Keep's Sewers.
In the Sewers of Ivor Tower, after being imprisoned, follow the currents to the bottom-right corner of the map. The path should then take you upwards, past a small platform on the left and to a small platform on the top-right of a four-way intersection. Take the north path, and continue it until it forks; to the right (against the flow, so run) is an alchemist who will teach you Corrosion.

Crush
Effect: Causes damage.
Location: Antiqua; Blimp's Cave
Immediately after entering Nobillia, head east from the Pirate's town, then enter the cave you see immediately. It will bring you upwards and out of another cave, at which point you travel just north to the cave just next to that. Inside is Blimp, who will give you the Crush formula.

Cure
Effect: Removes status ailments.
Location: Prehistoria; Strongheart's Hut
After saving Strongheart and obtaining the Spider's Claw, travel south of Fire Eyes' village and make your way west through the bushes. You'll eventually come to Strongheart's Hut, and he will give you the spell.

Defend 
Effect: Increases Defense temporarily
Location: Prehistoria; Fire Eyes' Village
After saving Strongheart, return to Fire Eyes' village and go to the northwest corner. Continue west onto the next screen, and talk to the guy wandering around. He'll teach you the formula.

Double Drain
Effect: Restores boy's HP in the amount damaged to the enemy/enemies.
Location: Antiqua; Cave by the River
After obtaining the second Diamond Eye, return to the cave by the river (where you learned Drain). The alchemist here will teach you Double Drain. In some games, you may need to return after visiting Gothica to obtain the formula.

Drain
Effect: Restores boy's HP in the amount damaged to the enemy/enemies.
Location: Antiqua; Cave by the River
After obtaining the Bronze Axe from the Pyramid, return to the Pirate's town. On the screen just to the left of it, thre is a cave in the northeast corner that can be accessed by swinging the axe into the wall in front of it. An alchemist inside will teach you Drain.

Energize
Effect: Greatly reduces time between regular attacks and prevents charged ones. Lasts 60 seconds.
Location: Omnitopia; Dr. Ruffleburg
After returning to Omnitopia with the Energy Core, speak with Dr. Ruffleberg again to receive this formula.

Escape
Effect: Return to the entrance of dungeons.
Location: Antiqua; Horace's Camp
After obtaining one of the Diamond Eyes, return to Horace's Camp and speak with Madronius. He will teach you this spell.

Explosion
Effect: Causes heavy fire-typed damage.
Location: Gothica; Tinker's Lab
Search the book in Tinker's lab in the bottom-left corner.

Fireball
Effect: Causes medium fire-typed damage.
Location: Antiqua; Madronius' Secret Room
Horace's assistant, Madronius, mentions a brother residing within the Halls of Collosia. Immediately after winning the Bronze Spear, go to the south-west corner of the room and enter the wall. Travel as far down as you can go, then as far to the right, then north into the small room. From here, enter the wall to the west, then go as far north as you can go, then as far east, then as far south, then west, then north again. You'll appear in a room with two jars and the Alchemist who will teach you the spell.

Fire Power
Effect: Causes heavy fire damage.
Location: Gothica; Ebon Keep
While playing as the dog during the banquet in Ivor Tower, you have the opportunity to explore the ventilation shafts. From the start, head north and west, then continue west at the fork until you exit the northwest vent. From here, head west outside, then take the northern door and enter the ventilation shaft inside of that room. Follow the path and continue east when it forks to the north, then when it splits to north/west/south, go slightly north to continue along the east path. Head down the long path, then down the shaft. From this room, which has three tall bookshelves, travel east through two rooms' hidden walls and enter the shaft again. From here, go north and hug the wall to the right until you enter the secret passage. Once inside, hug the northern wall and go up, then the western wall until you can go west, then north, then east, then south and hug the east wall to finally reach the old lady. Flash
Effect: Causes light fire-typed damage.
Location: Prehistoria; Fire Eyes' Hut
You receieve this spell automatically near the beginning of the game from Fire Eyes. It's impossible to avoid.

Force Field
Effect: Paralyzes enemy for 8 seconds; cannot attack / use alchemy on them.
Location: Gothica; Chessboard
After receiving the energy core, talk to the alchemist to the right further down the path to learn the formula.

Hard Ball
Effect: Causes damage.
Location: Prehistoria; Bug Muck Cave
After obtaining the Flash spell from Fire Eyes, your job is to go to the Bug Muck Swap to defeat Thraxx. As soon as you enter the swamp past the Quicksand Fields, continue south while hugging the rocks to the right until you find a cave. Enter it and talk to the Alchemist inside.

Heal
Effect: Restores HP.
Location: Prehistoria; Graveyard
After defeating Thraxx, travel north of Fire Eyes' Village and into the graveyard. You'll eventually have to battle some pink lizards (Vipers), and after winning, Blimp will award you the formula.

Lance
Effect: Causes damage.
Location: Gothica; Lance's House
Once arriving at Ivor Tower for the first time, go north and explore the numerous large houses. Lance's house is the near the entrance to the actual castle and tower itself, which can be identified by the young boy wandering around the entranceway and talking about a guy named Lance. Regardless, don't take any treasure from Lance's house until you speak with him. In return for your honesty, he'll teach you the Lance formula and let you take his treasure anyway.

Laser
Effect: Causes 1 point of damage.
Location: N/A
Fortunately, this spell cannot be obtained. It was originally meant to function much like the Laser spell in Final Fantasy titles by halving the HP of the enemy, but instead it was dummied out.

Levitate
Effect: Moves rocks during key points in the game.
Location: Prehistoria - Top of Volcano
After saving Strongheart, head north of Fire Eyes' village, then continue north through the plants up to the base of the volcano (the area with raptors). You will have to step on the correct sequence of stone slabs to ascend the volcano and talk to the alchemist at the top to learn the formula.

Lightning Storm
Effect: Causes electricity damage to targets.
Location: Gothica; Gomi's Tower
After meeting Tinker, you will be sent on a mission to travel north through the swamp and meet Gomi at Gomi's Tower. After defeating his dragon, Gomi will automatically teach you this alchemy formula.

Miracle Cure
Effect: Restores more HP than Heal.
Location: Prehistoria; Strongheart's Hut
After Tinker sends you on a mission to obtain parts to get to Omnitopia, you will be able to return to Prehistoria. Here, return to Strongheart's Hut and talk to him to earn the formula.

Nitro
Effect: Causes the heaviest damage.
Location: Gothica; Tinker's Laboratory
After returning from Omnitopia to Tinker's Laboratory, examine a scroll within the laboratory to learn the formula.

One Up
Effect: Completely restores the Boy's HP.
Location: Gothica; Dark Forest
The alchemist conveniently placed here will teach you the One Up formula. See the maps section for details.

Reflect
Effect: Reflects alchemy used against your character for 60 seconds; effects equal if used on both party members as opposed to just one.
Location: Omnitopia; Saved Guard Bot
Upon first arriving to Omnitopia, you will have to save IM-L8 for I8-PI. Afterwards, speak with I8-PI to receive the formula.

Regrowth
Effect: Restores 1 HP per second for 60 seconds; effects equal if used on both party members as opposed to just one.
Location: Gothica; Ebon Keep House
Upon reaching Ebon Keep for the first time and exploring the houses, take note of the elderly woman walking around in the northeast corner of one house. In that house, go around the east side to the back and enter through the secret doorway. Talk to her to earn the Regrowth formula.

Revealer
Effect: Makes invisible pathways visible.
Location: Antiqua; Horace's Camp
Upon meeting Horace Highwater for the first time, his assistant, Maldronius, will offer this formula. It is "required" to enter the Halls of Collosia.

Revive
Effect: Revives the Dog; restoration quantity compounded if cast multiple times.
Location: Antiqua; Blimp's Cave
After regaining the Dog in Nobillia, return to Blimp's Cave by crossing the desert to the south. After talking to him, he will teach you the Revive formula.

Slow Burn
Effect: Deals immediate damage followed by gradual damage every 2 seconds.
Location: Gothica; Tinker's Lab
Immediately after arriving at Tinker's Lab, examine one of the book's scattered about. In one of them is the Slow Burn formula.

Speed
Effect: Deals damage.
Location: Prehistoria; Volcano Core
From the room inside of the volcano core with the Viper Captain and the mud pepper earned from defeating him, head south, then west into the next room, then west across the bridge to the next room. From here, head northwest, then north, then southeast into the room. Inside, across from the vase, there is a secret passage through the eastern wall with an Alchemist who will teach you the formula.

Sting
Effect: Deals damage.
Location: Antiqua; Desert south of Nobillia
From the southern entrance to the desert (coming from Blimp's Cave), head north to the first oasis, then run northeast until you reach the next oasis. Then, run directly north from this oasis until you reach the next one, which has the Sting alchemist.

Stop
Effect: Paralyzes enemy for 8 seconds; cannot attack / use alchemy on them.
Location: Gothica; Underneath the Chessboard
When obtaining the energy core underneath the Chessboard, proceed further down the path to find an alchemist. If you have the Oracle Bone, he'll give you the Stop formula.

Super Heal
Effect: Fully Restores HP for both characters.
Location: Gothica; Underneath the Chessboard
While leaving Ebon Keep (west of the throneroom), a boy named Naris can be found wandering around near some boxes. Guess the correct number, and he will teach you the formula. If you get it wrong, you can leave and re-enter the room a few times until he looks like a boy again to guess once more, but it's easier to save just before guessing.
