Molten Core Succinct Strategies
This page contains all of my succinct Molten Core boss strategies. These are designed for raid leaders to broadcast in /rw before the fight. I use these to give pugs a quick reminder of the most important aspects of the boss, you may find them equally useful for your guild or for any pugs that you're leading.
Lucifron Strategy: For this fight you'll need to dispell and decurse primarily. If you're a Mage you'll want to prioritize decursing over DPSing. Kill the adds then kill Lucifron.
Magmadar Strategy: Stay at MAX RANGE to avoid fear. Bandage if you run through fire. Hunters Tranq Shot Magmadar when he enrages.
Gehennas Strategy: Decurse the tanks immediately - then decurse the raid. FOCUS ON DECURSING IF YOU CAN. Avoid the Rain of Fire AoEs, bandage if you get hit by one. Kill the adds then kill Gehennas.
Garr Strategy: Don't bother Buffing, Garr Dispells. WARLOCKS Banish your assigned targets. Listen to tanks on which add to kill next, after killing four adds everyone focus on Garr.
Baron Geddon: IF YOU HAVE THE BOMB RUN BEHIND THE RAID. DISPEL IGNITE MANA ON EVERYONE WITH MANA! Geddon will also use a Hellfire attack that requires everyone in melee range get away from him. Very important boss to pay attention on!!
Shazzrah: Decurse if you can. Stack where you're told on top of the marked tanks. No Melee DPS until 20% When Shazzrah ports to one of the groups, the tank assigned to that group will grab Shazzrah and bring it back to whomever the Main Tank is in the middle. STOP DPS when told after Shazzrah ports.
Sulfuron Harbinger: One tank on each add, separate the adds and kill skull - listen for call outs. Make sure to interrupt priests. Once tanks establish agro on the priests and pull them far enough away from each other GO ALL OUT.
Golemagg the Incinerator: Two tanks on Golemagg alternating agro, one tank on each core hound. Wait for DPS to be called then go all out on Golemagg. Melee needs to watch for debuffs, back out when you get three and wait.
Majordomo: One tank per Elite, two tanks on Majordomo and sheep all healers. Kill one elite, then four healers then the remaining three elites.
