Wintergrasp

Wintergrasp is the new World PvP zone that was implemented in WoTLK. Every two and a half hours a battle of Wintergrasp takes place that lasts for 30 minutes (give or take). You can port to Wintergrasp from Dalaran, by the portal room. That is if the battle has already started or if you are defending the keep. If you're on offense the portal won't open until the battle begins.

Wintergrasp Dailies

No Mercy for the Merciless / Slay them all!

Horde Start: Commander Dardosh (Offense: 22, 34) (Defense: 50, 18)
Alliance Start: Commander Zanneth (Offense: 72, 32) (Defense: 50, 18)

Kill 20 Horde or Alliance players in Wintergrasp.

Defend the Siege

Horde Start: Lieutenant Murp (Offense: 22, 35) (Defense: 48, 24)
Alliance Start: Senior Demolitionist Legoso (Offense: 71, 32) (Defense: 51, 24)

All you have to do is be around 3 siege weapons while they destroy a wall. Also you must be on Offense.

Strategies

Offense

The objective of offense is to penetrate enemy lines, take no prisoners and capture the RELIC. (DUN DUN DUN) Ok, no, but really. Offense's first priority is to take both the Western and Eastern Siege Workshops. This will allow you to command 16 Vehicles to use against the defending team. Once you have both Workshops, head to the keep and collect at least 5 Honorable Kills. Enough to get you started and enough so you can go back to ether Siege Workshop and commandeer a Catapult or a Siege Weapon.

Now take that catapult to where your whole team is on the wall of Wintergrasp (The best attack spot if you ask me is right up the front.). But just because i think that's the best it doesn't mean go there, and abandon your team. The more of you blowing up the wall, the better chance you have. The most important thing on offense is stick together and continually have waves of vehicles to attack the walls continuously.

Once you get the max rank (First Lieutenant) try to only pick Siege Vehicles, they're the most durable and effective for taking down walls.

Defense

Defense in Wintergrasp, sad to say it seems like a lost hope. You have to be very coordinated and ready to react on a whims notice. Most importantly, man the cannons. The cannons are your main defense. The most important thing to keep in mind on the cannon is focus on the vehicles. Not the players.

Respond quickly if a wall is under attack and you're not there, and you might be able to pull off defending. Something else important to keep in mind is Walls Regenerate over time (they just poof right back) I don't know the exact time on this but it seems to be around 10 minutes after being destroyed.

Cannons

Wintergrasp Cannon Aim

All Cannons work the same whether it be Wintergrasp or Strand of the Ancients. The better you aim the shot, the more damage it will do. Look at it like its similar to Darts. If you hit someone right in the dead center (In the O) You do the most damage. The further you are from the center, the less damage you do.

Useful Tid Bits

- When you destroy a tower it gives 125 Honor.

- Only when your faction controls Wintergrasp will Stone Keeper's Shard be loot able from bosses in instances.

- The team with less players will get Tenacity. A buff that increases Damage done, Health, Health Regen and Healing Taken.

- RP-GG's can be found around Vehicle workshops which can also be used to assist in the destruction of a vehicle.
