The game was released in Japan in September 1993, and in North America in October 1992. It was designed as an entry-level RPG for players new to the genre, featuring simplified gameplay mechanics and a more straightforward plot. The game follows the adventures of a young boy named Benjamin as he sets out to save the world from the Four Fiends. Along the way, he is aided by his companion, a young girl named Kaeli, and a wise old man named Tristam. The game received mixed reviews upon release, with some critics praising its accessibility and others criticizing its lack of depth compared to other RPGs.
