Resident Evil is a survival horror video game developed by Capcom Production Studio 4 and published by Capcom. The game is a Nintendo GameCube remake of PlayStation's 1996 game of the same name (the first ever installment of the Resident Evil franchise).

The player takes on the role of either Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine, S.T.A.R.S agents sent in by the city to investigate the murders. Their team locates Bravo team's crashed helicopter and they land at the site, where they are attacked by a pack of dogs. The members of Alpha team then seek refuge in an abandoned mansion... little do they know, they've walked into a house of horror.
