Captain Traunt - Borderlands 3 Farming Guides

Captain Traunt is the end boss of the Athenas planet and is one of the earlier bosses you fight in the game. Originally when the game was released Traunt was one of the most farmed bosses because of how easy he is to defeat and how many legendaries he drops. A big tip to defeating him, shoot the backpack on his back or the orb behind his head to always deal critical hits.

Locating Captain Traunt is extremely easy as Athenas only has one zone and you'll find Traunt in the large room at the end of it. Use my map above if you need any help finding him. As far as loot goes, Captain Traunt has two unique drops Kaoson (Dahl SMG) and Tankman's Shield (Hyperion Sniper). In addition to these two items there is also Firestorm (Grenade Mod) on Captain Traunt's loot list, unlike the other two items this one can also drop elsewhere in the game.
