Monster Rancher is a life simulation role-playing video game developed by Tecmo for the PlayStation console. It was released in Japan in 1997 and in North America and Europe in 1998. In the game, players raise and train monsters to compete in battles against other monsters. One of the unique features of Monster Rancher is its ability to generate monsters using CDs, where players could insert different CDs into their PlayStation console to generate unique monsters based on the data stored on the CD.
