Shining Soul - Ore Crafter Side Quest

One of the only Side Quests in this game that's worth doing is the Ore Crafter that you can find in the southern part of town. When you talk with this NPC he'll mention the ores and tell you to bring him some so that he can craft you a powerful item. You'll need to bring him 3 ores of the same type to craft an item and what item you get from him will be random. For this reason it's typically best to save your game before hand so you can reset if you get something you don't want.

There are 3 different types of ore that you can find in Shining Soul, the first that you'll find is Mithril. You can get Mithril from the Egual Dungeon onwards; Orihalcon on the other hand is found very rarely in the final few dungeons of the game. Dark Matter I don't think drops in the normal mode of the game, only after beating the game and starting Advanced Mode can you find it. Orihalcon will drop more frequently in Advanced Mode too.

Mithril: You'll first find this ore in the Egual Dungeon, in my experience it has a small chance to drop in any of the future dungeons as well.

Orihalcon: Orihalcon can be used to make the best equipment in the game. These can very rarely be found in normal mode in the final few dungeons. I sometimes get 1 on my playthroughs but never have I gotten all 3 in a normal playthrough. They'll drop more frequently when you get to Advanced Mode.

Dark Matter: Dark Matter makes more powerful equipment than Orihalcon but it's cursed which means it will come with drawbacks and thus, it's not the best. To the best of my knowledge you can't find any of these on normal mode. You can only get these during Advanced Mode which is the mode you playthrough after beating the game once.

When you give these items to the Ore Crafter he will make a random item for you from the list below. Like I said before, if you'd like to have some control over what item you get it's best to save prior to giving the Ore Crafter the 3 pieces of ore. This will let you reset the game until you get something you can use.
