Metroid Fusion Controller Layout & Button Combinations

Controls

D-Pad: Move Samus in the corresponding direction
A button: Jump (hold for higher jump)
B button: Shoot (hold for charge shot)
L button: Lock on to enemies or targets
R button: Fire missiles (hold to select missile type)
Select button: Access map screen
Start button: Pause menu and game options

In addition to these basic controls, Samus also has several other moves and abilities that can be used throughout the game. These include:

Wall Jump: Press the opposite direction on the D-pad when Samus touches a wall to jump off it and gain extra height

Speed Boost: Hold down the B button to charge up Samus' speed boost ability, then press the D-pad in the direction you want to go to dash forward quickly

Morph Ball: Press Down on the D-pad to transform Samus into her morph ball form, which can fit through small spaces and plant bombs

Bombs: Press the B button while in morph ball form to plant bombs, which can destroy certain obstacles and reveal hidden items

Grappling Beam: Later in the game, Samus gains the ability to use her grappling beam to swing across gaps and reach new areas. To use it, hold L to lock on to a target, then press R to fire the beam and swing.
