Movement:

D-Pad: Move Soma
Up + B: Backstep (when equipped with certain Souls)

 

Attacking:

A: Short-range attack
B: Long-range attack
L: Use a Subweapon (requires hearts)
R: Activate currently equipped Ability (requires MP)
A + Up: Upward attack
A + Down: Downward attack
A + Forward: Slide attack
A in midair: Midair attack
B + Up: Special attack (uses weapon special attack if available)
B + Down: Consumes MP to use Bullet Soul (when equipped)
B + Forward: Consumes MP to use Guardian Soul (when equipped)

 

Soul System:

Start: Open the menu
Select: View Map
R + A: Absorb Soul
R + B: Use Ability (requires MP)
R + Up/Down: Cycle through active Souls
R + Left/Right: Cycle through stored Souls
L + R: Activate Tactical Soul (when equipped)

 

Menu Navigation:

D-Pad: Move cursor
A: Select/Confirm
B: Cancel/Back
L/R: Cycle through menu tabs

 

Souls

Bullet Soul: Press and hold the Attack button (A) to charge, release to fire
Guardian Soul: Press and hold the Up button (D-pad) and the Attack button (A) to activate
Enchanted Soul: Press and hold the Down button (D-pad) and the Attack button (A) to activate
Ability Soul: Press and hold the Jump button (B) and the Attack button (A) to activate
Tactical Soul: Press and hold the Backdash button (R) and the Attack button (A) to activate

 

Abilities

Double Jump: Press the Jump button (B) twice in quick succession
Slide: Press Down on the D-pad and the Jump button (B) simultaneously
Backdash: Press the R button
Tactical Retreat: Press and hold the R button while moving in the opposite direction
Item Crash: Press and hold the Attack button (A) while an item is selected in the inventory
Ability Cancel: Press and hold the Jump button (B) and the Attack button (A) simultaneously
