Story

The storyline of Kingdom Hearts is pretty unique but one that I found rather uninteresting. My biggest complaint with the game would honestly be with this, the story. I strongly dislike how long you spend in each of the worlds you visit in Kingdom Hearts as it doesn't feel like long enough in any of them and some of the worlds are so uninteresting you don't want to go back.

I myself am not too much of a Disney fan and I only really played Kingdom Hearts for the Final Fantasy elements. I loved the game as a kid but now that I am older I honestly had to drag myself through the game. This is definitely an unpopular opinion on the series as I know it has many fans out there.

Soundtrack

The best part about this game hands down is the Soundtrack. I may not really have enjoyed the game all that much but I constantly find myself jamming out to the tunes on the OST.

Graphics

For a Playstation 2 game Kingdom Hearts' graphics really are impressive.

Gameplay

The Gameplay of Kingdom Hearts is more action adventure than it is RPG. You'll control the main character, Sora and you'll have multiple quick action commands you can access for spells or items and the rest is button mashing the attack button. I found it all to be extremely repetative and quite boring after hours and hours of playing.

Controls

This game has great controls. Really can't find many things to complain about in this department.

Overall

All in all I do think that this game is still worth playing if you've never played it before or never played any of the other Kingdom Hearts games in the series. Maybe I would have enjoyed the game more if I didn't play it as a kid and I didn't know the whole story already/it was more exciting for me when Cloud or a character from Final Fantasy came on screen.

To me the whole game came across as far too kiddy and it chose to visit some of the least interesting worlds of Disney. As an adult I really don't find Alice in Wonderland, The Little Mermaid, Pinoccio or Peter Pan all that interesting. The only cool places the game went to in my opinion were Halloween Town (A Nightmare Before Christmas) and Agrabah (Aladdin). Aside from that I found myself just wanting the level to end.
