Dustwallow Raptors

This location has been changed since Cataclysm.

A great place for lower level players to farm is at the raptors in Dustwallow Marsh. There are two sets of raptors for you to kill, one far to the north above Brackenwall Village and another far to the south close to the goblin town of Mudsprocket. The raptors far to the north are lower level but have a chance for a rare to spawn amongst them, Dart. In this area you have a chance to find Dart's Nest which will contain a rare out of combat vanity pet raptor that looks just like Dart! To the south the raptors will be slightly higher level but there is absolutely no chance Dart can spawn down here or any other rare raptors that are involved in getting a cute pet.

The raptors in Dustwallow are a great source of Medium, Heavy and sometimes even Thick Leather. The raptors don't have a lot of health and only have a medium amount of armor so it should be easy for almost any DPS class to plow through them. Clothies may have trouble if they let too many raptors stack up on them for too long but if you play it safe you should be fine. Also if you have either Herbalism or Mining you will find quite a few nodes in the general area where you will be hunting the raptors.
