Empowered Scholar is one of the bosses that you'll fight during the Guns, Love and Tentacles DLC for Borderlands 3 and is without a doubt one of the most annoying bosses in the entire game. This boss is a bullet sponge, much like all of the other bosses in this DLC and he has multiple phases where he is guaranteed to restore some of his armor, shield or health.

Basically how this boss works is every time you get him to 1/4 health he will go invulnerable and teleport to a different location and start restoring either Health, Shields or Armor. To stop him from being able to heal you'll need to destroy four crystals that he summons around his bubble.

The first place he teleports is to the center of the room. Here he'll start to restore his health. After that he teleports to a floating platform nearby and other floating platforms are summoned that you can jump onto and ride around the platform with the boss. This is where the real challenge begins.

If you fall off you immediately fail this boss fight. To make matters worse, the floating platforms you ride around on don't usually return to the central platform once you destroy all four crystals. You're expected to jump to the platform the boss was on and ride that down into the central arena again as it crashes. From what I have read online, this is where most people (including myself) have the most trouble with this boss.

Tip: If you really suck at platform jumping you can let the boss heal up to half and wait for him to return to the central arena instead of destroying any crystals
