Ghost in the Shell is a video game based on the manga and anime franchise of the same name. It was developed by Exact and published by Sony Computer Entertainment in Japan and by THQ in North America. The game was released on July 17, 1997, in Japan and on December 2, 1997, in North America.

Set in a cyberpunk future, the game follows the exploits of the counter-cyberterrorist organization Public Security Section 9, led by the protagonist Major Motoko Kusanagi. Players control a Fuchikoma, a spider-like combat vehicle, as they navigate through various levels, engaging in combat and solving puzzles.
