The Magic Cauldron - Act 5 Side Quest
Start Location: King Gylfi's Settlement
Quest Location: Throughout second half of Act 5
Objective: Obtain all 4 Embossed Silver Plate pieces and return them to Ljotbjord in King Gylfi's Settlement
The Magic Cauldron is a Side Quest which begins in King Gylfi's Settlement (Scandia) and it requires you to collect 4 pieces of Embossed Silver Plates from around this Act. You do not need The Magic Cauldron quest to get these pieces to drop for you and you're able to collect all 4 then pick up and turn in the quest simultaneously.
Below you will find a succinct list of the four locations that you can find the Embossed Silver Plate pieces. If you need additional information, further down the page you'll find detailed explanations for each piece and where to find it.
Embossed Silver Plate (1) Location: Fafnir's Cave in Externsteine/Wild Heathlands
Embossed Silver Plate (2) Location: Zealand Coast in a small cave on the northern end of the shore
Embossed Silver Plate (3) Location: Barrowlands found in a barrow at the northern end of the zone
Embossed Silver Plate (4) Location: A cave in the western portion of Frozen River
Where Can I find Embossed Silver Plate (1)?
Out of all 4 Embossed Silver Plate pieces this one is by far the hardest to find. You can find this Embossed Silver Plate piece inside of Fafnir's Cave which is a cave that is extremely hard to find on the border of Externsteine and Wild Heathlands. Just south of the Rebirth Shrine at the entrance to Wild Heathlands you'll find a barely noticeable path that leads you west up to Fafnir's Cave.

Where Can I find Embossed Silver Plate (2)?
This is probably the easiest Embossed Silver Plate to find and you'll typically find this while doing the Main Story prior to even accepting The Magic Cauldron Side Quest. You can find this piece on the Zealand Coast by following the coastline north until you reach a cave. Inside of that cave you'll find this plate in a chest.
Where Can I find Embossed Silver Plate (3)?
You'll be able to find this Embossed Silver Plate in the Barrowlands, an area to the east of King Gylfi's Settlement (Scandia Portal). In the northern portion of the Barrowlands search one of the barrows to find this Embossed Silver Plate. There is also a barrow just south of the one with this item in it that contains the item you need for The Restless King Side Quest.
Where Can I find Embossed Silver Plate (4)?
For the final Embossed Silver Plate that you need you'll want to search a cave in the eastern Frozen River zone. There are a few different caves in this area, the hardest part is finding the correct one - use my screenshots if you'd like guidance on which cave we need.
