TSW PvP Gear Guide

Gearing up through PvP in The Secret World is actually not a bad idea at all. At the current point in time PvP and PvE gear have the same exact stats on them. That means you can PvP and join in a PvE event and do just as well as the guy who acquired his gear through PvE. This upsets a few people but in my opinion is an overall great idea. Especially since The Secret World is set up in such a unique way. It fits the game perfectly. Anyway, back to PvP gear and how it works.

Much like every other game out there you have to collect tokens through PvP in order to buy the gear. In The Secret World these tokens are Black Marks of Venice and White Marks of Venice. Both of these tokens are rewarded through PvP or other PvP like events. Both El Dorado and Stonehedge give you Black Marks of Venice and the Fusang Projects give you the White Marks of Venice. Also whenever your faction captures a Facility in the Fusang Projects it will reward the whole faction with White Marks of Venice.

You can earn the White Marks of Venice while questing or doing anything else throughout the world. Obviously much less than if you played Fusang Projects but still some. Anyway, what we're here for is to go over the PvP Gear. Now I am going to skip over the blue stuff because it's so inexpensive and you can buy better stuff so easily from other sources. So, let's skip right to the epics! To find the PvP vendors you will want to travel back to your command center back at whatever city it was you started in.

As an Illuminati I went back to New York. Here you will find PvP vendors where you can see listings of everything that they have. To save you the trouble, here is a quick breakdown of everything's price. It's all pretty expensive and requires a ton of grinding to get even a single piece. Especially if you're losing Battlegrounds that day.

Minor Talismans Cost 63 Black Marks of Venice; 1176 White Marks of Venice (Epics)

Major Talismans Cost 96 Black Marks of Venice; 1792 White Marks of Venice (Epics)

Head Talismans Cost 126 Black Marks of Venice; 2352 White Marks of Venice (Epics)

Glyph Toolkits Cost 222 Black Marks of Venice; 4158 White Marks of Venice (Epics)

Weapons Cost 297 Black Marks of Venice; 5544 White Marks of Venice (Epics)

Upgrade Toolkits Cost 297 Black Marks of Venice; 5544 White Marks of Venice (Epics)

 

Those are the prices of all the PvP items you can buy! Now here is some of the math I did to figure out exactly how many Black Marks of Venice and White Marks of Venice it will take to get an entire set of PvP gear. I did the math twice, once including Glyphs and once not including glyphs.

 

189 Black for Minor; 3528 White for Minor

288 Black for Major; 5376 White for Major

126 Black for Head; 2352 White for Head

1998 Black for Glyph Toolkits; 37422 White for Glyph Toolkits (Optional, buy some epic glyphs for Pax instead)

594 Black for Weapons; 11088 White for Weapons

 

1197 Black Marks of Venice for a full set of PvP Gear (No Glyphs)

3195 Black Marks of Venice for a full set of PvP Gear (Glyphs)

22344 White Marks of Venice for a full set of PvP Gear (No Glyphs)
