Wind: Weapon Rune Word - Diablo 2

Wind is the highest level 2 Socket Weapon Rune Word in the game and it is often passed over by most people due to the low +Enhanced Damage that it offers. Most of the other benefits on the weapon are really good, like the Increased Attack Speed and -50% Target Defense but none of that matters if the weapon itself does crap damage.

This Rune Word is probably best suited to being a weapon swap Rune Word when you need to travel a long distance. With 2 Wind Rune Words equipped you can boost your movement speed by 40% which isn't too shabby. Maybe they designed this Rune Word with movement speed on it to help you skip all the mobs you can't kill because you are using this Rune Word.

Keep in mind that all Rune Words you create will retain any pre-existing bonuses found on the item. If you find a 'Superior' piece of armor with +Enhanced Defense, a Superior Weapon with +Enhanced Damage or a Helm/Weapon that has +Skill bonuses for a certain class, all of these will remain on the final Rune Word that is created. Farming High Runes: Out of all locations in the game one stands above the rest for farming specifically High Runes, the Countess during Act 1.
