Pride: Weapon Rune Word - Diablo 2

Pride is another one of the Rune Words that doesn't have a home in any of the popular builds or classes of Diablo 2. Since it lacks the +% Enhanced Damage, Crushing Blow and Indestructible affix's that most of the best in slot weapons have Pride ends up being an unpopular Rune Word. It typically is placed into an Ethereal weapon and relegated to being an Act 2 Mercenary weapon for this reason.

What Pride lacks in damage it makes up for in utility since it comes with the ability to blind and freeze the target as well as a built in Concentration Aura. You'll often find this weapon used on an Act 2 Mercenary so that players can gain benefit from the Concentration Aura and also so their merc can take out Physical Immune mobs with the Lightning Damage and Fire Wall proc.

Keep in mind that all Rune Words you create will retain any pre-existing bonuses found on the item. If you find a 'Superior' piece of armor with +Enhanced Defense, a Superior Weapon with +Enhanced Damage or a Helm/Weapon that has +Skill bonuses for a certain class, all of these will remain on the final Rune Word that is created. Farming High Runes: Out of all locations in the game one stands above the rest for farming specifically High Runes, the Countess during Act 1.
