Passion: Weapon Rune Word - Diablo 2

Passion is a Rune Word that doesn't fit in well with any builds or classes so it is usually overlooked. It offers moderate bonus damage in the form of +% Enhanced Damage, Increased Attack Speed (IAS), Bonus to Attack Rating, Add Lightning Damage and more but it lacks the things most melee users want like Crushing Blow, Deadly Strike or Open Wounds.

This Rune Word comes with Zeal and Berserk built into it but they are too low level to be useful for very many levels and what's worse is this weapon is designed to be kind of anti-melee. With the "Hit Causes Monster to Flee" affix you'll spend a decent amount of your time chasing around monsters that you wish would just stand still so you can melee them.

Keep in mind that all Rune Words you create will retain any pre-existing bonuses found on the item. If you find a 'Superior' piece of armor with +Enhanced Defense, a Superior Weapon with +Enhanced Damage or a Helm/Weapon that has +Skill bonuses for a certain class, all of these will remain on the final Rune Word that is created. Farming High Runes: Out of all locations in the game one stands above the rest for farming specifically High Runes, the Countess during Act 1.
