Gloves Worth Keeping in Diablo 2

Depending on your Class/Build gloves are either an extremely important or almost completely useless slot. Any builds that focus primarily on melee damage will want gloves with Improved Attack Speed and preferably Crushing Blow (certain specs want Crushing Blow more than others).

The Bloodfist Heavy Gloves (screenshot above) are a great example of one of the best pairs of gloves in the entire game for most melee. Bloodfist gloves are only missing Life Leech and Crushing Blow, if they had those stats then they would probably be the best melee gloves in the game.

Casters will usually want something that has good Resist rolls (Fire and Lightning), Magic Find and bonuses to useful stats.

 

(Bow Amazon) Gloves

Req: + 2 or 3 Bow and Crossbow Skills (Or Passive & Magic Skills)
Req: + 20% Increased Attack Speed
Rec: Strength or Dexterity, Single Resistance (Fire or Lightning preferred), Life Replenish, Mana, Half Freeze, Attack Rating, Life Leech or Mana Leech

If you are Explosive or Freezing Arrow build then Life Leech and Mana Leech will not benefit you. These stats only work on physical attacks and Explosive/Ice/Freezing Arrow are not Physical attacks.

 

(Javezon Amazon) Gloves

Req: + 2 Javelin and Spear Skills (or Passive & Magic Skills)
Req: + 20% Increased Attack Speed
Req: (If boss killer build/spec) + Crushing Blow
Rec: Strength or Dexterity, Life Replenish, Mana, Attack Rating, Life Leech or Mana Leech, Lightning or Fire Resistance

Only Javezons that deal physical damage will benefit from Life Leech and Mana Leech. Additionally only physical attacks benefit from Crushing Blow as well. If you're a Javezon that uses Plague Javelin or Lightning Fury these stats will not benefit you at all.

 

(Martial Assassin) Gloves

Req: + 2 Martial Arts
Req: + 20% Attack Speed
Rec: Strength or Dexterity, Life Replenish, Mana, Attack Rating, Life Leech or Mana Leech, Lightning or Fire Resistance

Life Leech is one of the best things you can get on your gloves along with IAS and +Skills.

 

(Melee) Gloves

Req: +20% Improved Attack Speed
Req: Life Leech
Rec: Crushing Blow, Attack Rating, Fire, Lightning or Cold Resist, Strength or Dexterity, Life Replenish

Crushing Blow is very important for melee too, especially if they plan to do bosses. Since Crushing Blow deals a % of the remaining health of an enemy it's extremely good for enemies with a lot of HP. Resists are usually the next best thing you can hope for along with Strength or Dexterity. Fire and Lightning resists are far better than Cold or Poison.

 

Other Gloves

 

Both of these are good Amazon gloves too since they have +20 Attack Speed and +2 to Skills.

 

 

If you didn't have any other gloves with increased attack speed on them as a melee, these gloves wouldn't be too bad.
