Gnomeregan Instance Guide

Gnomeregan is the home of Leper Gnomes and Troggs. Gnomeregan is a very unique, large instance. Gnomeregan has a station right inside of it for Alliance players that has vendors, quests and even a mailbox. Horde players will be hostile to the vendors and will not be able to use the Mailbox. For a list of all of the quests involving Gnomeregan click here.

Gnomeregan is best known for being a funny and creative instance, A lot of the things in here have to do with problems gamers face such as bugs, lag, dupes and disconnects. a perfect example of this is the boss just outside the instance, Techbot.

Even though Gnomeregan is located in Dun Morogh Horde players can easily get to it from Booty Bay after they've completed the "Gnomer-goooone!" quest which you can pick up from Orgrimmar after you pick up Rig Wars.

The first boss you will come across in Gnomeregan, if you enter in the Front entrance will be Grubbis. In order to spawn Grubbis you will need to complete Blastermaster Emi Shortfuse's event inside Gnomeregan. When Grubbis spawns he will come out of the caves with a Basilisk named Chomper.

Grubbis & Chomper

Grubbis and Chomper are very easy to kill. Nether of them do anything unique at all. Even though the encounter is started by a Gnome both Horde and Alliance players are able to do it.

Loot Table:

Grubbis Paws

After you kill Grubbis the next boss you will run into is the Viscous Fallout. This boss is sometimes skipped since the room he patrols in is very large and he blends in perfectly with all of the normal mobs.

Viscous Fallout

The Viscous Fallout doesn't have any unique abilities. However this boss is well know for dropping an item that even a level 80 might care to have. The Hydrocane item in his loot table will grant Underwater Breathing. Also, since the item is a staff it can be switched in and out in Combat making it more useful then other items that grant underwater breathing.

Loot Table:

Acidic Walkers

Toxic Revenger

Hydrocane

After you kill Viscous Fallout the next boss you'll come across will be Electrocutioner 6000. The Electrocutioner 6000 will drop a Workshop Key, which not only is required to get to Mekgineer Thermaplugg but is also part of a General Achievement "The Keymaster".

Electrocutioner 6000

The Electrocutioner will use many different nature-damaging moves on you and your group. He will shock the person with highest threat, chain lightning them and also do a cone-type move affecting everyone in front of him. Everyone in the group is able to loot the key off him.

The next boss in line is the Crowd Pummeler 9-60. Many groups skip the Crowd Pummeler by accident, since you actually have to go past the lift you're appose to get on in order to get to him.

Crowd Pummeler 9-60

The Crowd Pummeler uses a lot of AoE moves such as Cleave, Trample and Pummel. Have any casters in your group stand back because his Pummel is an AoE spell. If any casters are caught in it, while casting they have a 75% chance of being silenced for 5 seconds.

Loot Table:

After Crowd Pummeler head down the elevator and towards the final boss, Mekgineer Thermaplugg.

Mekgineer Thermaplugg

Mekgineer Thermaplugg is one of the lowest level unique encounters. While fighting Mekgineer Thermaplugg he will open up shoots from around the room. The shoots will drop walking bombs on the ground that will walk towards the boss and the group. When they make contact with any one of your group members they will explode, dealing a lot of damage to him and anyone around him.

It's important to have one person assigned to run around the room and hit the red buttons that are at the bottom of the shoots. When you hit one of these red buttons the shoot will close and stop all bombs from coming out of it. Shortly after the boss will open another shoot, causing more bombs to come out.
