Final Fantasy VI is a role-playing video game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It was released in 1994 in Japan and North America (under the title Final Fantasy III) and in 1995 in Europe.

Set in a steampunk-inspired world known as the world of Balance, Final Fantasy VI tells the story of a group of rebels known as the Returners who oppose the oppressive rule of the Gestahlian Empire. The game features a diverse cast of characters, each with their own unique abilities and motivations, including Terra Branford, a young woman with magical powers; Locke Cole, a treasure hunter; Celes Chere, a former imperial general; and many others.
