Unexpanded Bags & How to use them

One of the other ways to help manage your inventory is by purchasing unexpanded bags from the /baz and completing a quick Tradeskill combine to make them into even bigger bags with weight reduction for yourself! There are a few different types of Unexpanded Tailored bags - my screen shot above doesn't show all of the types but it has a decent selection.

The best type you can buy is Transcendent, these are the ones I use on basically all of my boxes and once you fully expand them they're 20 slot 100% weight reduction bags! Considering the fact that these are the best unexpanded bags you can purchase - they're also the most expensive... 20 - 40k a pop for them is a steal considering the Mercenary Crates that are also 20 slot usually go for 400k +!

What you need to do in order to expand the bag depends on the type of bag you're purchasing. Unexpanded Legendary backpacks are expanded differently than unexpanded transcendant and supreme. For right now, I would worry less about buying the best bags and worry more about getting all your inventory slots filled with at least *some* bags. So, buy whatever is cheapest for you.

Each of these different types of bags are expanded the same way but usually require you to scribe a book before being able to expand them. Below you'll find more information on what's required to expand the different bag types. This format is easier to follow than in paragraphs.

Scribe Zikett is near the Small Bank in Plane of Knowledge, Garik Nogflop is in the first large building you see after entering Sunrise Hills.

Unexpanded Tailored Legendary (14 slot bags): Requires you to scribe Garik's Secrets of Bag Expansion which is sold by Garik Nogflop in Sunrise Hills.

Unexpanded Tailored Supreme (16 slot bags): Requires you to scribe Extradimensional Luggage: A Guide from Scribe Zikett in PoK or Craftkeeper Bobus Tindlefoot in Shard's Landing.

Unexpanded Tailored Flawless (18 slot bags): Requires you to scribe Extradimensional Luggage: A Guide from Scribe Zikett in PoK or Craftkeeper Bobus Tindlefoot in Shard's Landing.

Unexpanded Tailored Transcendent (20 slot bags): Requires you to scribe Guide to Transcendent Bags from Scribe Zikett in PoK.

As well as having to scribe a specific book you'll also have to purchase an Abu-Kar's Arcane Solution from one of the Tradeskill NPCs in Sunrise Hills or from Tailor Kujen who is in the Plane of Knowledge. Tailor Kujen is inside the Small Bank in PoK; which is the building across from Scribe Zikett.

You will need 1 Abu-Kar's Arcane Solution per backpack that you wish to make. The combines are impossible to fail so you don't need to worry about a trivial or anything special like that. After you scribe the book all you need to do is slap one of the Arcane Solutions into a Tailoring Loom with the Unexpanded bag and hit combine.

That's all there is to it! As aforementioned these are some of the cheapest possible bags you can get. Not many people know how to expand the bags and Allakhazam isn't very clear on how to do it therefore they're usually cheaper than the other bag types you can get. If you're looking to increase your inventory space I recommend you do the Extraplanar Trade Satchels first and unexpanded bags second.
