World of Warcraf Arena Guide

The Arena system was added in with the Burning Crusade expansion. Since the arenas have been a big hit with players (Both positive and negative). Below you will find tips on how to conquer your foes and to win in Arena's.There are three different brackets you can compete in arenas, 2v2, 3v3 and 5v5. There is also a practice mode for arenas called Skirmish. Skirmish will put you up against another team regardless of arena rating and rank.

You will not lose or gain any points for participating. The mode you will probably mostly be doing is the Rated Matches. To enter in a rated match you must first make an arena team by visiting an organizer. Also, you will need to buy a charter and get 1, 2 or 4 other players to sign it to create a team. The amount of players you need depends on the size of team you are trying to create. All arena teams will start at 0 rating and you will have to work your way up to 1500 as of patch 3.1.0. When you are below 1500, you will gain points as if you where ranked at 1500. When you pass 1500 you will gain points as normal.

At the end of an arena season players in the top 35% (For each battlegroup) will receive rewards. Below is a list of the rewards;

Top 10 people in the 35% Bracket - "Challenger" title

3% to 10% - "Rival" title

0.5% to 3% - "Duelist" title

.5% to the top - A unique mount and the "Gladiator" title.

General Arena Tips

- Remember the Arena is all about Team Makeup, Talents Specs, Gear and Strategy. If skill mattered then you wouldn't see any specific class makeups. Of course you have to be good in order to do well in the arena, but if you're amazing an "ok" player can still beat you.

- Resilience, this is the most important stat for every class in arenas

- Plan accordingly, if you have a bad plan or tunnel vision you're not going to win.

- Bring your consumables, and don't hesitate to use them. That goes for Paladins with Symbols, Death Knights with Corpse Dust and everyone else out there that uses a reagent. Most importantly, make sure you have bandages. I can't tell you how many games I've lost because someone didn't have a bandage.

- On the topic of Consumables, if you're a Warlock be sure to create a Soul Well so everyone can get their health stones.

- Use those useless buffs! You've got See Invis and Underwater Breathing from Warlocks, Thorns from Druids, Divine Spirit from Priests and more from other classes. These buffs take up a Dispell slot, forcing the enemy to dispell you more then they'd originally need to to get off a useful buff.

- Try to figure out your enemies talent spec, look at their buffs, health, mana, pets, observe your enemy and learn their strengths and weaknesses.

- Discuss with your team who will do Call outs. A Call out means someone will call what enemy player to get on. More then one person doing this leads to split DPS

- The PvP trinket is very important in arenas, you must learn the best time to use your trinket, and don't forget to use it.

- Avoid being kited and traps. I'm not talking about hunter traps, I'm talking about the enemy pulling you behind a pillar and killing you.

- Use vent, Teamspeak or any program that will allow you to talk to your team mates. It is much easier and faster to get anything you have to say across to them.

- Use Keybindings and Mouse Turning! I can't stress how much this will help you. If you'd like to learn more about this, view my guide on how to be a pro by clicking here.
