Magic Sword is a side-scrolling action game that was released in 1990 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). The game was developed and published by Capcom. In the game, the player takes on the role of a hero who must climb a tower filled with monsters to defeat the evil Drokmar, who resides at the top. Along the way, the player can rescue prisoners who will offer assistance, such as healing or unlocking doors. The hero is armed with a sword and can also pick up magic spells to help defeat the enemies. The game features 50 levels and has a unique gameplay mechanic where the hero must choose a companion at the start of each level, each with their own unique abilities. Magic Sword was well-received for its challenging gameplay, variety of enemies and level design, and soundtrack.
