Skyfire Mountains - Ring of Scale Zone Guide

The Skyfire Mountains Ring of Scale revamp is infamous for the annoying drakes that hit you from a mile away with their targeted AoE splash damage. Only a few locations in the zone are safe from these drakes, the tunnels on the western side of the zone as well as the area outside of Gorowyn are the two best places to hunt away from these drakes.

In the southern Chetari/undead area you won't find any drakes either but the enemies down here are arguably even more annoying.

Outside Gorowyn Camp

My favorite camp in Skyfire Mountains is right outside Gorowyn since there are so many different named enemies for you to hunt as well as a zone line nearby if things go sideways. There are technically three locations you can camp in this area, the blue and purple circles on my map above are the two I enjoy most.

The purple circle is a more difficult camp and one that I typically do when I want to farm the VP Key piece at the same time. At this location you will have multiple enemies that can spawn in your camp location and you can and will be bothered by drakes AoE all the time.

As for the blue circle there are less enemies that spawn in this area and you won't be bothered by drakes almost ever since so few spawn up in this area. There are many nameds that can spawn around this camp so you'll definitely need a better than average group to hunt here or to avoid nameds that spawn while your Cooldowns aren't ready.

North of the lava river is the only true "safe" location that you can camp in this area. However I don't recommend this location since pulling across the lava river isn't that fun... If you want a safe spot to camp though while you hunt up here, this spot would be the best.

Southwestern Tunnel Camps

Out of all camps in Skyfire Mountains this one is definitely the easiest; no drakes will ever find you inside of these caves which eliminates the threat of their AoE. Inside there are a few different locations to camp and 5 different named enemies for you to hunt.

The blue circle to the right of Shardstubble and just below Screen-bone Magmite is the easiest spot to camp inside of here. You'll need to break up the Shardstubble room when you first arrive but once you've done that the rest will be a piece of cake. Above the Ritualist (northern most camp) is the second best location to camp since it's close to 3 named enemies and only has one enemy that roams through the area.

Right next to the Ritualist is the last spot you can park your group and much like the camp above it you'll have access to 3 different nameds. Camp near the nameds you want to hunt or where you feel safest.

- The named enemies in this zone have a chance to drop Power Sources of a few different types. These items are Cliff Stone, Magma Stone, Scorpikis Worry Stone and Enchanted Dragon Scale.

- There are rare items unique to Empires of Kunark and Ring of Scale zones called chase items. For an Advloot list of all these chase items that you can use on your own characters head over to my EoK Advloot Chase Item List page and copy and paste it into your own LF_AN file. More info about how to do that is found on this page.
