Morag Tong Writ Quests - Elder Scrolls: Morrowind

This page includes the main quest line for the Morag Tong Guild in Morrowind. To join the Morag Tong Guild you'll first need to complete the introduction quest given to you by Eno Hlaalu in Vivec. Once you've finished this quest you can speak with Eno Hlaalu or any of the Morag Tong Guildmasters across the world to accept Writ quests.

Essentially Writ quests are assassination requests. You're given a Writ each time you start one of these quests which will absolve you of any crime you commit; the Writ is intended as a get out of jail free card to murder the person involved in the quest... Technically though you can save these Writs and use them for any crime you commit in the future - they do not have to be used on these quests exclusively.

 

 

Writ for Odaishah Yasalmibaal

The easiest way to reach Odaishah is to first travel to Sadrith Mora via boat or Mage Guild Guide then west from there across all the islands to the coast. You'll find a Yurt with Odaishah Yasalmibaal as the only resident along the coastline; use my map screenshot for better directions.

 

Writ for Toris Saren

For this Writ you'll want to head over to the Saren Manor which is found in the Redoran Plaza of Vivec. Once inside the Saren Manor don't talk to anyone inside the building or they'll engage you in a futile fist fight. If you take the secondary entrance to the manor, you'll find a trapdoor which will lead you to Toris Saren after entering the building underneathe one of the beds.

 

Writ for Sarayn Sadus

We're looking for Zaintirari, a dungeon which is in the same general area as the Odaishah Yasalmibaal Writ that we did earlier. Take a boat or Mage Guild Guide to Sadrith Mora and from here go west until you reach Zaintirari. Use my map location above if you need additional guidance.

 

Writ for Ethal Seloth and Idroso Vendu

These two are found in the Telvanni Canton of Vivec. In the Telvanni Plaza you'll find a building called Temporary Telvanni Housing, these two can be found inside.

 

Writ for Guril Retheran

Guril Retheran is found in the Redoran Canton in Vivec; there is a spot in the Waistworks called the Flowers of Gold Cornerclub which is where you'll find Guril. After taking our Guril be sure to loot the Glove of Sanguine Horny Fist on his corpse. This item is used for a future Morag Tong Quest.

 

Writ for Galasa Uvayn

You can find Galasa in the Hlaalu Canton of Vivec. She's found in the northern portion of the Hlaalu Treasury which you can reach through the Hlaalu Waistworks.

 

Writ for Mavon Drenim

Mavon Drenim is another target that is found in Vivec. This time head to the Telvanni Canton and search for Mavon in the Telvanni Tower - you can reach this location through the Telvanni Plaza at the top of the Canton. Mavon is found at the top of the tower and him along with the two mages that are with him will attack you on sight.

 

Writ for Tirer Belvayn

Tirer Belvayn can be found in the dungeon of Shara which is southwest of Dagon Fel on the same island. Throughout Shara you'll find a bunch of undead enemies as well as a leveled dremora or daedroth enemy.

 

Writ for Mathyn Bemis

Mathyn Bemis is found in the Hlaalu Ancestral Vaults which is part of the Hlaalu Canton of Vivec. You can reach the Hlaalu Ancestral Vaults by first entering the Hlaalu Waistworks and then going to the Hlaalu Canalworks. In the Hlaalu Canalworks you'll find a door that leads you to the Hlaalu Ancestral Vaults area.

 

Writ for Brilnosu Llarys

Brilnosu Llarys is found on the roof of Hlormaren, a dungeon to the northwest of Balmora. The easiest way to get here is to travel west from Balmora and either Jump or Levitate over the mountains until you reach Hlormaren. Once at Hlormaren you'll want to Jump or Levitate again until you can get up to the roof with Brilnosu.

 

Writ for Navil and Ranes Ienith

Other Requirements: Able to open a lock level of 60

Our final standard Writ from Morag Tong requires us to travel to the Dren Plantation west of Suran and defeat two brothers in the basement of Dren Plantation's Villa. To reach both Navil and Ranes Ienith you'll have to go through 2 locked doors (lock level 60) in Dren's Villa. While you are here avoid speaking with Orvas Dren because he'll attack you and he's involved in a main story quest.

After you turn in this quest both Orvas Dren and Galos Farethi can be spoken to like normal once again. Tip: Search their room for tons of goodies including Exquisite/Extravagant under garments which come with very high Enchantment Values.
