World of Warcraft Engineering Profession Guide Engineering is a "fun" tradeskill of WoW. It allows players to make a bunch of different gadjets and toys for you to pla around with. Not all of these toys are useless, some are actually very powerful. The only downside to that is a lot of them have the ability to backfire onto the caster, dealing damage or even reversing the effect. As an Engineer you won't have much of a direct effect on the out come of the game, since everything you can make is more of a leisure. However, a lot of the times its great to have Engineering, say your group wipes and you get out alive. Bust out them Goblin Jumper cables and try to ressurect your healer. Engineering Paths Goblin Engineer: Allows an engineer to make lethal goblin devices. In order to become a Goblin Engineer you must grab the quest from Graham Van Talen in Undercity (Horde) or Lilliam Sparkspindle in Stormwind (Alliance). Both factions have to take this quest to Nixx Sprocketspring in Gadgetzan. After you turn the quest in he will ask you to sign his pledge. Sign the Pledge of Secrecy and turn it back in. Accept the next quest and now you will get a quest to show your work. For this quest you need the following;
After you complete this quest you will be awarded with the Goblin Engineering Membership Card which is needed to train from any of the Goblin Engineering Trainers. Gnomish Engineer: Allows an engineer to make fantastic, yet unreliable gnomish devices. In order to become a Gnomish Engineer you must grab the quest from Graham Van Talen in Undercity (Horde) or Lilliam Sparkspindle in Stormwind (Alliance). For Alliance you have to turn the quest into Tinkmaster Overspark in Ironforge. Sign the Pledge of Secrecy and turn it back in. Accept the next quest and now you will get a quest to show your work. You need the following;
After you complete this quest you will be rewarded with the Gnomish Engineering Membership Card which is needed to train from any of the Goblin Engineering Trainers. For Horde you have to turn your quest into Oglethorpe Obnoticus in Booty Bay. Sign the Pledge of Secrecy and turn it back in. Now you will get a quest to show your work. You need the following;
After you complete this quest you will be rewarded with the Gnomish Engineering Membership Card which can be used to train from all the trainers. Leveling Engineering 1 - 75 Engineering 1 - 30 Craft - Materials Required:

Engineering 435 - 450 Your only bet is to craft items for players and create your epic engineering helm. There is an additional route, but it is rather expensive and really not worth it unless getting engineering to 450 is your top priority. This is the Gnomish Army Knife.

Choosing a Second Profession Choosing a second profession with Engineering is rather simple, you can grab mining and make your life a breeze. Or grab another crafting profession and make your life an absolute living hell. Of course your second option is Enchanting, my personal favorite. Enchanting will allow you to not have to look for an Enchanter to enchant your gear. And of course... Ring Enchants!!! Special Perks to Engineering Engineering's Special Perk is the ability to make Helicopter Flying Mounts, Motorcycles and a bunch of other cool Gagets. The types of gadgets that you can make as an Engineer are movement speed increasing boots, nets to root people, a trinket to ressurect people. A machine to collect fart clouds, that of course contain essences! Profiting off Engineering Engineering is a difficult profession to profit off of. The only two viable things you can profit off of are the Mechano-Hogs and Mekgineer Chopper. Players will want both of these mounts for their looks and the achievement that comes with them. If your alliance, you will also be able to make items used for a quest out in Borean Tundra. To view the different ways to profit off Engineering, click here. |
