The Oculus Instance Guide The Oculus is the second 5man instance located in Coldarra in Borean Tundra. The Oculus beats The Nexus on a scale of Crappyness by close to a million. While doing The Oculus, after you kill the first boss Drakos the Interrogator you will have to choose which mount you'd like. No, you don't get to keep the mount. You fly around from place to place using it in this instance and also kill the final boss while on it. If you've never done The Oculus save yourself the trouble and don't do it.
Drakos the Interrogator 325,825 - 431,392 Normal Strategy: This is a pretty basic boss, he will summon a bunch of explosives (Like the first boss in Mech) and they will explode and deal damage to anyone around them. Also he will do a move that will pull everyone to him and summon even more explosives, just run away from the boss and dodge the explosives. Heroic Strategy: Same as normal, just harder. Normal Loot Table: Heroic Loot Table:
Varos Cloudstrider 325,825 - 431,392 Normal Strategy: Mainly a tank and spank boss with a addition. There are orbs along the outer edge, at certain times there will be 4-5 Beams connecting Varos's body to these orbs. The first set are very thin beams, these are essentially telling you where you shouldn't be standing. When you see these, move to a area without them, you have a short amount of time to move. Then the lazers will fry whoever is still standing in there area. Heroic Strategy: Same as normal, but A LOT harder Normal Loot Table: Heroic Loot Table:
Mage-Lord Urom 325,825 - 431,392 Normal Strategy: Have the group stand behind one of the large pillars (So when he ports to the middle you're protected) and have the tank stand a perfect distance away from the group so that the frost trap wont affect them. When he ports to the middle to do his Arcane Explosion, have the tank run to the pillar with the rest of the group to dodge it. He'll port back to the group when he's done, just have the tank drag him away again. Heroic Strategy: Same as normal, many people like the backing up strat, but i prefer mine. If you're tank is well enough geared then by the time he ports to the middle, the buffets would be at the perfect stack to where you'd start worrying. Normal Loot Table: Heroic Loot Table:
Ley-Guardian Eregos 2,997,590 - 3,875,788 After Eregos dies, the chest on a floating ledge up here will be lootable Normal Strategy: There are 3 Types of Drakes, Ruby (Tank), Amber (Dps) and Emerald (Healer). For normal pick 1 Ruby, 3 Amber and 1 Emerald. While killing Eregos he will spawn little Whelp adds that the tank should be taking care of with his main damaging ability. Tank Drake- Make sure you use Evasion whenever its up. You're responsible for the whelps, target them and use your main damaging ability on them. Amber Drake- Use Temporal Rift, until you have 10 Shock Charges, then shoot a Shock Lance which does a good deal of damage. If there are other Amber Drakes then its good to coordinate this, because if he is channeling Temporal Rift when you fire the Shock Lance, he gains 10 charges. The other ability that these drakes have is to Stop Time. This ability is most importantly used during his Enraged Assault or when you're dramatically overwhelmed with whelps. Emerald Drake- Keep 3 Stacks of Leeching Poison up at all times. Also keep Touch of Nightmare up at all times. To heal the tank, or anyone who is injured use Dream Funnel. Watch your amount of HP so you dont kill yourself. Heroic Strategy: Same as normal, but much harder Normal Loot Table: Heroic Loot Table: Quests Here is a list of quests you can pick up for The Oculus Achievements
