Swtor PvP Gear GuideOf course you already know that there is PvP gear in Swtor, but the one thing you probably don't know is how to get it, where to get it, what levels it is available and how much it costs. That's what this guide is for! First things first, some Warzone basics. The first level you are able to enter Warzones is level 10 and you can queue for them by clicking your factions symbol on the minimap. Participating in Warzones will reward you with Experience, Credits, Valor Points and Warzone Commendations. To learn more about each of these things click on their appropriate links. The only one out of all those rewards that I will be going over in this guide is the Warzone Commendations, as they are the PvP currency in Swtor. Each Warzone, win or lose will reward you with Warzone Commendations. Of course if you win you will get more commendations than if you lost, but hey, that's pretty much common sense! Now, the Warzone Commendations can be used to purchase many different PvP rewards but the main one that I will be going over here is the gear, of course. Now there are three different sets of PvP gear that you can buy which all come at different levels, the first being level 20 followed by level 40 and then the final set is at level 50. You can buy the entire level 20 and 40 set with about 1,200 Warzone Commendations (you can only have 1000 at a time but I will explain a bit how to get around this if you want to save up even more). In addition to these PvP sets there is an additional way for you to get some gear through PvP, more information about that is below. First let's take a look at the Warzone Commendations. How Long Will It Take For Me To Gear Up Through PvP?Warzone CommendationsFor every Warzone that you participate in you will be rewarded Warzone Commendations. Warzone Commendations can be turned in for gear as well as other consumable items that you can use during PvP. Depending on your performance during each Warzone will determine how many commendations you are going to receive. Players are only able to hold 1000 Warzone Commendations at once but if you want to get around this there is a little trick you can use. What you need to do is buy the Mercenary Commendations from the PvP vendors inside any Warzone (30 Warzone Commendations for 10 Mercenary). Then once you reach whatever level you're looking for to buy gear you can convert them back. You will lose a lot of commendations in the process but at least you will be able to afford all the gear you want upon reaching either 20 or 40. Below is a list of all the items you are able to buy with commendations and a brief explanation about them if it is needed.
How Does Max Level PvP Gear Work In Swtor? Probably a common question amongst people just hitting level 50... Max level PvP gear is bought mostly through armor or weapon tokens (kind of like in WoW, if you've played that game) and the armor or weapon tokens can be acquired from the Cost:
As you can see above I laid the cost out for you in easy to understand terms with even pretty pictures to help you understand. The Champion Gear Bags can be purchased inside any Warzone from the Medical Droid that stands near the entrance. Buying one costs... 200 Warzone Commendations and 200 Mercenary Commendations. Now I bet you know how to get Warzone Commendations by now but you're asking yourself what in god's name are Mercenary Commendations?!?! The answer to your question is they are awarded to you through world pvp on places like Tatooine or Ilum. Or, you can buy Mercenary Commendations from the Medical Droids in each Warzone for 30 Warzone Commendations. The conversion ratio is pretty crappy but depending on your server it might be the best option you got. These bags have a chance to give you either 1, 2 or 3 Centurion Commendations and a chance at a Champion token which you can turn in for a piece of Champion gear. There are four vendors for each armor type in your main faction's Fleet Station, a PvP Armor vendor (sells all the 20 - 40 pvp sets) a Champion PvP Gear vendor (sells level 50 Champion PvP pieces), a Battlemaster PvP Gear vendor (Sells Battlemaster level 50 PvP pieces) and a Centurion PvP Gear vendor (sells level 50 PvP pieces). A picture of a single set of these vendors on the Republic side is below. There are six sets of these vendors on each faction's Fleet Station. For Republic and Empire these vendors are located in the Combat Training area. Now that you know each set of PvP gear you're probably wondering which one is the best. It goes Centurion > Champion > Battlemaster for each tier of PvP gear. (Meaning Centurion being the bottom-end PvP gear and Battlemaster being the top-end PvP gear). I even made a comparison page for a few pieces of gear just incase you were curious. You can buy the Centurion gear via Centurion Commendations, Champion Gear via Champion Commendations and Battlemaster Gear via Battlemaster Commendations. Also, opening a specific bag, say a As you already know Champion Gear Bags can be purchased inside each and every Warzone at the supply droid that stands near where you rez as well as acquired from the PvP daily quests which come from the terminals in every Fleet station. The prices on the Champion Gear Bag can be found below as well as earlier on this page. The Battlemaster Gear Bags come from the level 50 PvP dailys and weeklys which come from the PvP terminal in the fleet station. Cost:
Individual Classes PvP Gear Each class has it's own unique sets of PvP gear. Starting at level 20 you can buy the first set of PvP gear for about 1,200 Warzone Commendations in all. At level 40 you can buy another set of PvP gear for about the same price. The level 20 and 40 sets can be purchased from the PvP vendors in your factions Fleet Station, it isn't hard at all to find these vendors as there are about a dozen of them located in the same area, the Combat Training area. A picture of these NPCs can be found below (same picture that was above but I'll repeat it for you guys)! |
