11/30/11

Well yesterday was WoW's brand new patch, patch 4.3 I think it was? I'm not sure. Actually it isn't even 11/30 where I am at right now, it's 10:30 on the east coast. But I felt there was no reason to put this at the very end of yesterday's update where it would never be seen... Anyway, yes WoW patch 4.3 and stuff. ...

Broken Addons that I know about.

Auctioneer - it is displaying an interesting messed up pattern of scattered numbers behind the auction window. Here is a picture of what I am talking about:

Also I am having a bit of trouble with Super Guild Invite (the addon you see in my window), it isn't inviting people anymore. I'm not sure if it is a bug or if my character has it set up wrong. Also while I was trying to figure out that addon flying around Orgrimmar, I found something I am going to call the Orgrimmar Stargate! It kind of reminded me of one so I thought the name fit it.

Also as I am typing this right now I am making some more PvP videos. Just ones to throw up on youtube for entertainment purposes. I've never made pvp videos before and I have always wanted to, It's cool to finally be doing it. I am not editing it as much as I would have liked before and I am not even playing all totally cool music. I have fraps just recording whatever music I am listening to at that very second. It's actually kinda cool when you see me kill people to the music though.

While we wait for the pvp videos to compress using AVS Video Editor (For those who always ask me). And then the videos have to upload to Youtube. People always ask me how my videos upload so quickly. Truth is, I'm not sure. But I have Verizon Fios or however you spell it and it is pretty fast so. Now you know!

Anyway, what I wanted to show you guys were 3 screenshots I took in the swtor beta. I actually took like 300 screenshots but all but 3 were completely black. It was weird and very sad at the same time since I had a lot of screenshots in there. Lots of things I could have used for guides, specifically my swtor leveling guide. Anyway, here are the three screenshots I managed to salvage of beta.

11/29/11

As many of you could have guessed I've been busy (as always) since Thanksgiving. I didn't get home until Saturday night, I had to patch SWTOR while I slept then I woke up and played it a lot on Sunday. For all those people not in the loop, Bioware recently lifted their NDA and allowed videos/screenshots of this weekend's test be released. I of course pounced on this opportunity to make a ton of SWTOR videos and take dozens of screenshots!

Since there are so many different videos I am only going to post a few on the front page of my website, however if you'd like to see all of them check out my Youtube Account! There are probably close to a dozen more videos on there if you're interested in seeing more of the game.

As for what I thought of SWTOR, I will say they did a much better job with the game between beta phases. They added in a bunch of new quests, pretty much all of them easy to find and actually do. In the previous beta stages there was too much running around grinding and absolutely no quests to do. I finally made it to level 10 and tried out some of the Warzone PvP which was "meh". I got some videos of it up on youtube, if you're interested check it out.

The Warzone PvP would have been fun if I was playing a Healer or Ranged class in my opinion. For one, "tab" or any button in the game wont target the nearest enemy. Not even like a damage skill that would in WoW. This makes it so you constantly have to stop running, click like mad over the enemy until it sticks then start fighting him again. I seriously hope this gets fixed because it is by far my biggest complaint.

My second biggest complaint is the sticky targeting. That's fine and all for PvE but when I want to unclick something I want it to be as simple as clicking off the target. That's nearly essential when it comes to switching targets for me. If these two gripes of mine can be fixed, I think the game will be much much better than it is now. Anyway, here are some videos of my Star Wars experience!

SWTOR - Giant Republic City

This video shows one of the very first cities you come across as Republic. I think it's the planet of Coruscant or something like that, I'm not sure I am in no way shape or form familiar with Star Wars. I mainly just wanted to make the video because I was rather impressed with the graphics of the city all around. Like the flying vehicles and such, it really reminded me of like Mass Effect combined with Star Wars.

SWTOR - My First Warzone

This is the very first Warzone that I participated in, it is called The Civil War an is only one of three Warzones I played in SWTOR. As you can tell from watching the video I mess up a lot but hey, I'm still getting used to everything! Anyway, this Warzone is not like any other Battleground or Scenario or whatever I've played before. What you need to do is capture three turrets, or at least some of them, and when your faction holds them they shoot down the enemy ship.

It's a fairly easy scenario and is quite fun to play at times but as I mentioned before, the PvP in SWTOR, at least for me as melee seems too "weird" to play. We will see if it gets better by release, if not I will surely be playing a ranged class!

SWTOR - The Auction House

Probably going to be my favorite place in the whole game in a few months. This is the very first Auction House I came across after hitting level 9 and leaving the newbie zone. I go through a bunch of different options and show players all that the Auction House has to offer. It's really more of an information type of video over anything else.

SWTOR - Character Creation

This video gives a quick run down of all the different races and a lot of the different human faces you can make. The game is very customizeable in making your own characters and allows much more than I've seen in many of the games out there (A ton more than WoW but a lot less than other games like Aion).

SWTOR - Chat Conversation

This is just an example video of the typical conversation you will have with an NPC in SWTOR. If you've ever played Mass Effect or SWTOR on console then you will be very familiar with having to pick options during a conversation to choose the outcome (Usually good or bad or if you'd like to fight or run etc etc). I really like this part of the game, It kind of gets you more immersed than any other mmorpg before it. We will see how this works out amongst everyone in the mmo community but I think the way they made the quests work in this game they're going to be able to drive a lot of console gamers out. Also all the Star Wars fans will of course come running and hopefully some Mass Effect ones!

SWTOR - Flight Path

I remember sitting back and watching a Flight Path video before WoW came out and going Woahhhh this is so coool! So, with every game I've gotten into beta for I've been making flight path videos. Here is the one I made for Swtor!

SWTOR - Jedi Knight Gameplay Video

This is one of the higher level Gameplay videos that I made. Granted I only got to around level 10 but I only played for about half a day. This video will give you a good idea of what it is like for a Jedi Knight around level 10. I personally really like the class but I think I am going to switch for something more ranged for release due to the controls.

SWTOR - Jedi Knight Intro Area

Last video I am throwing up now is of the intro area for Jedi Knights.

Happy Turkey Day Everyone!

11/23/11

Another long period of time without an update, it's just been one of those months. I'm gonna work on getting something up very soon though that will cover even the past days when I didn't update anything. Anyway, bit thing that I wanted to say here is I got into the SW:TOR beta this weekend where they officially lifted the NDA and made it so you can talk about whatever you want after this beta. Screens/Vids/experiences you name it. In otherwords, I'll be your source of information after the beta and let you know how it is by posting vids, screens and more.

Oh and because I've been so lazy and irresponsible recently I am uploading tomorrow's happy turkey day announcement today. Also here is the final arena video of me being back!

11/22/11

An arena a day! I'm being goofy the next few days and putting up random videos (in the future) and showing 1 arena a day. These arenas go to the same beat of the music I listen to while doing them, or whatever that means. In otherwords, if you watch me doing something and it's going to the beat of the music, I know. Also sorry if any of the music got copyrighted. Anyway, here is the third video!

Well I kinda got bored of Skyrim so I decided to reactivate my WoW account a few days ago. I've been doing a bit of catching up and also just slacking around with everything in particular anyway. I don't know what to expect from me anytime soon besides something like completely random gaming videos. We'll see. I have a lot of ideas floating around and no time or motivation to do any of them.

11/18/11

Third day back in WoW, made even more random videos of me doing some BGs. One or two of them are with a friend!

Doing a Battle of Gilneas, mainly just messing around, nothing in particular. I wasn't trying to be super cool just for the video or anything like that. Also the video has recordings of the songs I was listening to at the time of doing them, just so you can watch most of my attacks and actions going to the beat of the music. Here is another video of my third day back with me in WSG.

Still nothing amazing I'd like to point out in that video. I did however take one more video of a Battle of Gilneas with me and a friend.. Speaking of which Gilneas is that how it's even spelled? Hmm... Too bad I am too lazy to look it up.

This video also, just like all of the others, goes to the same exact music I was listening too at the time. If there is any copyright errors my bad, Youtube likes to do that to me!

11/17/11

Second day back playing WoW. I didn't really get much done yesterday aside from putting up tons of Auctions. I'm above 600k again now! Anyway, here are a few videos I added to youtube recently of me just doing some random stuff I used to find fun in WoW. Mostly just Bgs but there may be some instances in the videos I forget!

That's video one of my first day back, here is video number two!

Not really much else for me to say about this day... Was pretty uneventful besides that. Just more and more putting up auctions.

11/16/11

So I was really bored and really "messed up" ;) this morning so I decided to reactivated WoW after not having played it much since my 10k an hour guide came out. I immediately just started to fool around, did some battlegrounds and a few instances as prot... Stuff I haven't done in a long while. It was fun, felt like there was still something missing though. I've been gone for nearly 5 months and not a single thing has changed.

I guess that was kind of nice too, since nothing changed at all there was really nothing new I needed to learn. I did have a lot of trouble installing it, however, something with a Bootstrap error. I had to disable AVG completely in order to get the install to work.

It was interesting to play WoW again, although I did have to put like 5,000 items back up on the AH since when I quit I just canceled them all. I'm actually not going to Auction House hardcore this time around, I'm going to kinda take it laxed and see if I can enjoy the game as I once did.

Elder Scrolls V Skyrim - A Blade In The Dark

All of these are under construction

Elder Scrolls V Skyrim - Diplomatic Immunity

<Talk about the glitch gear thing>

Leads into next quest

Got two videos for it, watch pointers from them.

- meet delphine in riverwood, malborn in solitude, give Malborn the equipment, Meet Delphine at the stables, Follow her but I forget where, then talk to Malborn again

Video 1 starts here - Create a distraction and get away from the party (get that one guy drunk) Optional - Retrieve your gear. Search for informations about the dragon's returning, Escape the Embasy. Then speak to Delphine again.

Elder Scrolls V Skyrim - A Cornered Rat

after you leave temple you go to Riftkin and search the ratway for Esbern's Hideout. Then you find Esbern and talk to him and head to Riverwood. This quest transitions into Alduin's Wall. Also this whole quest takes place in Riftkin, immediately after you leave that whole Thalmar area.

Skyrim Tip 1 - Krosis Mask

One of the best and most unique masks I have seen in the game so far comes from killing the Krosis nearby the Dragon's Resting area just northeast of Fellglow Keep. After you kill the dragon and move in towards the treasure, a Krosis pops out of a sarcophagus and begins to attack you. He is a very tough mob to kill, fast so he is hard to hit, his magic spells are high damage dealing abilities and he has a decent amount of HP. If you had a bit of trouble with the dragon than the Krosis will wreck you.

What I found to do which helped a lot was pillar hump while the Krosis shoots you with a bunch of Fire Balls. Now I don't know if he has mana or if he ever runs out but I find that after ten or so shots he tries to run me down and gets in my melee range. Now of course if you're a ranged class him being in or out of melee range won't be that big of a deal. Aside from the Krosis and whatever loot is inside the chest at this encampment you will also be getting a "Voice" upgrade. Below is a list of each of your voices that will be getting an upgrade.

Voice Throw Voice

Far Throw Voice

Fool Voice

Those are the ones I remember and could write down fast enough, also I am fairly certain there aren't anymore than that.

The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim: Quest - Joining The Stormcloaks

The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim: A Chance Arrangement (How To Steal And Plant Madesi's Ring)

This is fairly easy, just follow what I do exactly (Including the save incase you mess up) and make sure you're always hidden. If you need further explanation, make sure when you pick both the lock to the box and the box's lock there should be no eyeball. You should have a line that looks like __.__ across the screen meaning you are completely concealed. After that you will want to position yourself behind the boxes where I went to plant the ring. It's important you save your game here because planting the ring can still get you caught. So you'll want to save your game then plant the ring. Once all goes well your shill (your accomplice) will call off the meeting thing and everything will go back to normal. Good luck!

The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim: Ivory Dragonclaw Puzzle +Boss Fight + Loot Room

Do you remember the Golden Dragon Claw quest? Well this one is just like that one just it takes place in a different dungeon and the Dragon Claw involved in the quest is a different color. This is the Ivory Dragon Claw and it works much like the Golden Dragon Claw. At the very end of the instance you will come across the same large disc that has three moveable shapes and the center has three holes for the Ivory Dragon Claw to fit in. Open your Inventory and Inspect the Dragon Claw, Look closely to see the three types of animals, how they ascend up the claw determines what you will need to set the door too. If that is a bit hard for you to understand too no worries, here is a quick example to make things easier.

Say the Dragon Claw shows a picture of a bear at the bottom, a fish in the middle and a snake up top. You will want to make the bottom ring a bear, the center a fish and the top one a snake. So it should look like this on the claw.

Snake

Fish

Bear

--Dragon Claw Keyhole--

To successfully make this key work for the door you will want to change the shape closest to the keyhole into a Bear, the middle one a Fish and the top one a Snake. Got it now?

As many of you may know I've mentioned I was getting Skyrim when it came out. Granted I got it a few days late, better late than never, right? Anyway, I'm going to throw up some guides for the game since there are none on the internet yet since it is still new. Here are a few of the early on quests you will be doing.

Quest for the Golden Dragonclaw

This is the first of many Dragon Claw puzzles which you will come across in Skyrim. Luckily they're pretty much all the same so once you learn how to do the first, the rest will be much easier to figure out. What you need to do is first, find the Dragon Claw. This particular claw comes from the person who is stuck in the webs right after you fight the spider boss. You will want to cut him down and then he will run from you but get killed in a room not too far ahead from one of the undead mobs walking around.

After you get the claw, once you get to whatever door the claw is meant for you will want to open up your inventory and go to "Misc". Find the claw in your inventory and press whatever button is needed in order to zoom in on it. Once you do this take a good look at the under part of the claw, aka what would be the palm. Here it will show three different symbols, each of them being a symbol that you can find on the outter rings of the door you're trying to bypass. Select the right symbols, the bottom symbol being the closest one to the keyhole. Once you've got all the symbols right, place the claw back into the door and bam it will fly right open.

On the other side of each of these doors is a glowly word thing that will give you a special ability or further increase your Dragon Soul special abilities and also a boss as well as some good treasures. The bosses are generally easy to kill, depending on your level, character spec and overall skill. Be sure to check every corner in the room for some extra treasures after killing the boss before moving onto the treasure room. Also for obvious reasons don't miss the blue word on the wall to better your Dragon Soul abilties.

Side Note: Be sure to keep any loot that looks rather unique, such as the Dragon Tablet in the very first dungeon. This is needed for a quest.
