12/31/11 As a really quick update today, I'm posting a guide for Swtor detailing how long it will take for players to gear up specifically through PvP. This guide can be found here but for the sake of argument I am copy and pasting it below. How Long It Will Take To Gear Up This is probably the biggest question anyone will have when it comes to gearing up through PvP. Everyone wants to know how long it will take... Well, I'm going to give you the best breakdown I possibly can of each piece of gear, how many Centurion Commendations it takes and roughly how long it will take to acquire that many. For this list I am using the gear available to my Jedi Shadow, I understand some classes use two weapons instead of a single one, but keep in mind that the price of the single 2h weapon is the same price of both your weapons together.
If you had to purchase every single piece of Centurion gear it would cost you a total of 393 Centurion Commendations. The good thing about this is by opening the Champion Bags you will get Unassembled pieces of Champion Gear (Tokens as I call them) which can be turned in for gear. You won't get a ton of tokens from the bags but you'll get enough to the point of where you won't have to worry about collecting all 393 Centurion Commendations. Now for the scary math part... The part that factors in the absolute worst luck you could ever have and considers what would happen if you didn't get a single Champion Token to turn in. Are you ready for it? If you don't get a single Champion token to turn in it will take you a total of 136 bags to get every single piece of gear on this list. If you take into consideration how long it takes in order to acquire a bag, (about two hours), the amount of time to get all the bags is pretty scary. 12/27/11 Donate To Almar's Guides!! I can't thank everyone enough for the continued support you've provided my baby, AlmarsGuides.com . Everyone that knows me knows that I put everything I have into this website, staying up countless hours of the night after a new game is released and going over every single foot of a gameworld to find the absolute best farming locations before everyone else. I've dedicated every spare minute of free time that I have to providing you with the best website around for gaming guides. Now you can help me just as much as I helped you. Almost everyone has a paypal in this day and age or a credit card, debit card or some ability to send money electronically. By now I'm sure you're all also familiar with Paypal, so I don't need to go writing a guide on how to donate to me! If you'd like to send me a donation, even if it is just a small amount like a dollar or five dollars, know that your donation goes towards me providing you with better, faster and more up to date guides. It's great to see your continued support with AlmarsGuides.com and I am looking forward to writing thousands of guides in the future for everyone! Email Address: Rynox@Verizon.net
Any amount you give will be spent to better my guides I assure you! If you still want to donate in the future and can't find the donate button around, just look for it on the right hand side of my website! 12/25/11 Merry Christmas! 12/22/11 I haven't had much time to update my "blog" recently since I've been playing a ton of swtor, I'm level 38 now very close to 39, one of the highest on my server. I was racing to max but then I saw just how good the story of the game was and... well I regret racing at all. Space baring 90% of the conversations was a big mistake. Anyway, aside from leveling I have been working lots on getting new guides up for the game. Mostly on the professions section. Anyway, I need to get back to work instead of posting here, so in the mean time I'd like to add that I switched servers to Kathol Rift which is a PvE EST server. 12/19/11 I am going to be updating all of my Swtor guides tonight as I wait for the servers to come back up at midnight. Here are two of the videos I uploaded on youtube today to support my guides for the game, Like them and sub to me for future videos. There are going to be probably close to a hundred over the next month as I work on finding all of the farming locations and such.
Almar's Guides Update:
12/18/11 Well it is just after midnight on the 19th and we are exactly one day from Swtor launch. I hope everyone else out there is excited as I am for the launch of the game! If you read my blog a few days ago then you know that I was racing to 50 on my server but someone was dramatically ahead of me, making it nearly impossible for me to beat him to max. Well, I just recently changed my server to a PvE server instead of the old PvP server. I did this for two reasons, One I didn't really care for the Jedi Sentinel in the first place. I just didn't like the combo point system they had and their general gameplay. I also switched to a PvE server because after thinking about it for awhile, I'm too old for the whole immature ganking thing and I don't feel like dealing with the little kids running around attacking everyone and interrupting their quests. When I want to PvE, I want to PvE, when I want to PvP I want to PvP, I don't want a mixture of both while I am doing either one. Anyway, now I am playing a Jedi Shadow and I must say I am loving it compared to what I was doing on the Jedi Sentinel. Playing the Jedi Shadow actually makes me enjoy PvP in the game, and boy am I good at it! I am going to try to get a website update video uploaded soon, something to just say what has been going on with me and to also talk about Swtor and all of the guides I've gotten done so far with the game. Anyway, that's all for now. 12/17/11 So far this is my second day in Swtor, I've been playing all night for about 16 hours straight. I managed to get to level 16 playing quite casually, so from what I have seen thus far it is not too difficult to level up in Swtor. As I am progressing through the game I have been updating my Profession and Leveling guides with tidbits of information that other players will find helpful. Currently on my server the highest level is a level 37 Smuggler. I didn't see anyone even remotly close behind him in level and when I talked to him he said he was playing casually. I guess that's good news for me, if I keep up the good job I will actually be able to catch and pass him... Granted doing this will most likely make my guides slack for a few days, I think it will give me and my website the publicity it deserves. Maybe I'll stick to my guns and get a server first for the first time ever... I've been up for over 24 hours right now and I am not even tired so... I may actually just be able to do this... SWTOR -- Above is my Livestream which I will be constantly having active throughout the next few weeks. If that box doesn't work for some odd reason, here is a link to it: Almar's Guides Livestream If you want to play with Almar my character's name is Almar on the server Belgoth's Beacon (US PvP EST)

Just incase you missed it the first times. 12/16/11 Well today seems to be the day that I get into and start playing Swtor. They have a post on their website; Morning! We are entering into the final stretch for outstanding invites. Those of you who pre-ordered in December should be happy today - barring any major issues. Hopefully that means I get in today despite having preordered all the way back in September... (Gamestop screwed me out of a key until the 14th...) Anyway, once swtor goes live I will be livestreaming all of my gaming through own3d. I'll post a link when the time comes! 12/13/11 I'm starting to mess around with own3d.tv and I'll be streaming some videos today to experiment and see how many views I attract. It's going to take me a bit to get used to it and to fix the lagginess but in about an hour or two (It's 6am est) I should be making some good videos. Click here to see my channel. 12/12/11 Since not as many people know about my 10k an hour guide as they should, I decided to go through the trouble of posting the entire thing on the front page of my website! Almar's Guides - How To Make 10k an Hour The first thing you are going to do is deny that this is impossible. However, not only will I give you proof beyond all reasonable doubt that it is possible, I will also tell you how you can do it for absolutely free. The way I found to make 10k an hour cannot get you banned. It cannot be nerfed. And it will always be possible. You will need at least 2 characters to do this, you will only need a single level 85 but I highly recommend two or more to limit travel time which will increase your hourly gold past the 10k point. The third or second character can be a level 1 which you keep parked at the Auction House at all times. This is where your money will be coming from. Before you go about denying that this is possible click here to see my math. That page will contain links to all other pages with math for specific locations as well as math for the Auction House. Before you bust out your calculator and decide to blindly listen to whatever it says, take two steps backwards and execute the laws of common sense. Something that a lot of WoW players seem to forget these days. If you expect to make 10k a gold on the dot every hour, never more, never less, you will be strongly disappointed. With this entire guide I am using averages. I'm not documenting my best runs through instances and bragging, I'm doing 5 runs, taking all the items, showing you how much they sell for, proving to you that they sell for that price and then giving the average amount of gold for each run to you. Also if you're new to the Auction House, know that things are very random with how they sell. You could have 30 - 45k worth of items in your inventory and another 10k on the Auction House and the only thing you can do is wait for them to sell or you could be dumping items on the Auction House non-stop and someone is buying them out every second making you massive profits. Once again, I use the averages even for Auction House sales so I'm not taking a single good day and saying "Hey look, I made 10k an hour!" To start here are the requirements in order for you to do this guide and also a list of things that I recommend you should have in order to do this guide. Requirements - At least one level 85. The more you have the better - At least one character that can Disenchant items or even a friend that doesn't mind Disenchanting a lot of items at seemingly random times - A character parked at the Auction House that should never leave it - The ability to gather mines (Herbalism is an extremely close second and in my opinion a requirement to, but you can still do this without it.) - Auctioneer - Know your Auction House - PATIENCE Optional Requirements - Herbalism - Tailoring - Alchemy - Jewelcrafting - Enchanting (on one of YOUR characters) That is the entire list of things that I strongly recommend you have for doing this. Doing so will maximize your profits and will allow you to make even more then 10k an hour. Now there are two ways you can start doing this, one is just start buying materials from the Auction House and two is to start off by farming. I really recommend doing 2 first since you need a baseline for items. This isn't really something you can jump right into and start making a bajillion gold an hour. Especially if you buy all of the items you need through the Auction House, you're going to be dumping at least 12k or more in materials. For starting out I have 8 easy steps that you can do within 2 hours max to get a good baseline of items to start. If you are interested in viewing the guide I have for this click here. (Also there is a link below this Paragraph) Start with that initial path I have so you don't have to invest a single piece of gold into this and it will be purely 100% profit. Now, regardless of where you start or how you start you will need to know what items to look out for and what items to hold on to. For this section the items are in no specific order and there are a lot of them. Clicking on each item will take you to a specific page that will tell you everything you need to know about it. Items You Will Want to Buy & Farm Well, those are all the items you will be farming up and selling through the Auction House. There are quite a few of them so try not to get overwhelmed. Quite a few of them come from the same farming locations and some of them you might not even be able to acquire if you don't have all the desired optional tradeskills. Don't worry though, you don't need to collect all of them in order to make 10k an hour. As mentioned before, on each of the items pages I give you a good idea of how to control the Auction House for that item, but there are a few basic Auction House guides that I wrote as well. Each of these guides will give you good generalized tips on how to maximize your profits through the Auction House. Some of it is basic knowledge and some of it is more advanced trickery you can play on others. I strongly recommend you read over these guides because they will play a crucial role in helping you maximize your profits.
If you have read and understand all of the guides on this page and have watched all of my videos, then there is nothing left for me to help you with! The only thing left for me to do on this page is to give you the proof you crave for knowing that this guide will work. Below are videos that I have broken down into many different parts and have completely narrated to explain this as best as I can. The first set will cover the "Start up" guide that I linked earlier on this page. If you missed it here is a link to it followed by the videos that back it up. First Set of Videos This set of videos will cover what I do in the Start up Guide and these are actually the same videos which I show in that guide. For this very reason if you have already watched them then you should probably just skip over this section. Sixth Set of Videos (Vashj'ir Farming Videos) This set of videos are here to show you my Vashj'ir farming runs. These videos can be used to demonstrate how much loot you will be getting with each Vashj'ir run as well as a demonstration of how to easily farm Vashj'ir with little to no difficulty at all. Auction House Proof This section of the guide is to prove to you that the Auction House makes me as much money as I say it does and also the totals you see in this section will be a majority of the 10k an hour guide. I am going to seperate the sections by 10 minutes each, giving you 5 sections for a nice average of everything that sold. Proving how much money the Auction House makes you is extremely difficult since the amount of sales you make are always all over the place. You could sell 8,000g worth of items in 5 minutes and then sell nothing for two hours but if you branch out that 8,000g across 2 hours combined with the farming guides which I show above you will still make 10k an hour. To start off we will cover the first 10 minutes that I show for this proof section. You will need to click on these pictures to make them larger. I started this picture the second I saw Infinite Dust starting to sell on the Auction House. As you can see I show the time on the Infinite Dust as well as the server time in the upper right hand corner. The server time will show you im not manipulating the picture in any way. Now a little bit after the Infinite Dust started to sell I made another set of sales... That set of sales is huge and happens every once in awhile when people decide "Hey, let's level a Rogue and buy some Heirloom Enchants!". Besides that though no more sales happened within the 10 minutes that I was taking these pictures. That is the first example of how much gold you will make off the Auction House in just 10 minutes. This is rather common and to prove it is rather common you can just take a look at the very next 10 minutes which followed this... But first, let's get the totals from this. In the 10 minutes in between all of those pictures I made a total of 2579g. Now, in order to make 10k an hour all you need to make is roughly 1.6k - 1.7k every 10 minutes. I made close to double that in 10 minutes, which still using logic would be right around 10k an hour unless I could maintain that 2.5k every 10 minutes (which is possible, especially on a weekend but extremely difficult).
Now, let's take a look at the second set of pictures for the Auction House... As you can see I started these shortly after having the Enchant Weapons sell, I went roughly 10 minutes without any sales and then bam instantly I made 500g off of two Volatile Life sales. After taking the picture I sat around for a bit, keeping my fingers crossed that other stuff was going to start selling and it did! Someone was leveling Enchanting through Burning Crusade materials and started to scoop up all of mine on the Auction House! They started out with Greater Planar Essences then moved on over to Arcane Dust. That is all that sold within these past 10 minutes. Here is a picture proving to you that nothing else sold: (I know, you don't really need this but hey, I'm trying to be as accurate as possible here!) It took so long in between both pictures because I was trying to update my website with the information as well as take the pictures on the Auction House as well as keep an eye on it. But, anyway, let's do the math for everything that just sold...
This was much more of an average 10 minutes than the above pictures because I got lucky in them with enchant sales. Now you may be like, 1.6 is less than 10k an hour! Well, yes, it is... Especially if all you're doing is camping the Auction House and watching it. Now let's say you were farming LBRS during the 10 minutes when everything was selling, you can just add 500g to that total since LBRS takes roughly 20 minutes and nets a 1,000g profit with each run. Or if you want to take a lowball estimate, look at Botanica, that takes right around 10 minutes and is roughly a 200g profit. Factor that into the 1600g and it is 1800g in 10 minutes. The key to this guide is to be making money on one character while also making money on your Auction House character. Say you only make 800g through the Auction House in 10 minutes but you also manage to make 400g farming on one character while things are selling on the Auction House. Add that up and you get 1200g in the 10 minutes instead of just one of those two numbers. That is how this guide works. It's quite funny that each time I take a set of pictures I get another full set done right after because items just keep selling. While I was doing the math for the above pictures my Azshara's Veil started to sell and then the main person that buys my Netherweave Cloth logged on and cleared out my entire supply of Netherweave Cloth on the Auction House. Also while Netherweave Cloth was selling someone started to scoop up my Stormvine. Above is a picture of all the Azshara's Veil that sold. One entire page, there weren't any more sales above or below that. After taking this picture, Darthgap, my Netherweave Cloth buyer logged on and bought out every single stack of Netherweave Cloth I had on the Auction House, all of which can be seen in the pictures below., The above picture is a picture of all my Netherweave Cloth starting to sell on the Auction House. Right below this sentence is even more Netherweave Cloth sales mixed in with Stormvine, which you will be getting a ton of through farming Vashj'ir in my guides. All of my Stormvine was pretty much bought out but I still had a ton of Netherweave left to sell! P.S I carefully counted the Netherweave to make sure I didn't repeat any stacks when giving a total at the end here. And let's face it, even if I did repeat a stack, do you honestly thinkg 13g is going to make a difference in making 10k an hour? As you can see I had a ton of Netherweave Cloth on the Auction House, so it just keeps selling and selling and selling. If you're wondering why he is buying so much, it is to make Netherweave Bags and sell them for more on the Auction House. Now, the reason I am not doing that is because he is doing that. Without him making the bags I wouldn't have as many Netherweave sales, we work together to make each other lots of money, in other words. Without me he wouldn't make as much gold, without him I wouldn't make as much gold. Also, if I started making Netherweave Bags I would have to find something to do during the time my character sat there and crafted 400 Netherweave Bolts every day. Which I have a hard enough time finding something to do when I buy out Thorium Ore and smelt it into Thorium Bars to sell for more let alone having to do something like that two times. The two pictures inbetween this sentence are the last two of all my Netherweave Cloth sales and I even sold a few other items at the end of the picture below. That is the end of those 10 minutes. Now, since all I am doing right now is sitting and watching the Auction House I am losing some of the money that I could be making by farming at the same time (I hope you're happy!) Also I just sold all of my Frostweave while typing this sentence, (Which it is selling for 70g a stack right now =O) and as you can see from the above pictures I sold all of the Netherweave I had on the Auction House. For this reason I am going to take about a two hour break in between these pictures to farm more stuff to sell. (That is the reason I am letting you know). Making this guide as accurate and truthful as possible is my goal. Anyway, enough blibber blabber, let's do the math for the Netherweave Cloth sales!
Now since I am taking a short break inbetween the set of pictures which can be found above and the ones which are below, let's take a complete total of the gold earned from the 3 sets of pictures which was roughly 30 minutes in length. The totals for the 3 sets of screenshots were 2579g, 1647g and 1070g. As you notice, they progressively decrease, this is because during the period of time all of the items that sold I didn't/couldn't put more up on the Auction House since I was busy writing this guide at the same time and doing the math of the three sets of pictures. Also I wasn't farming at the same time to feed the Auction House with more loot as well as further increasing my totals. These totals are ONLY for the Auction House and if you were farming at the same time they would be drastically higher. (Say you were farming LBRS, a total profit of 1,000g in 20 minutes, then a Botanica run in 10 minutes for a total of 200g while all those items were selling. That would give you an increase of 399g to each of those totals if you spread the amount made out amongst all of them). Anyway, if you add all of those totals up it comes out to 5296g in 30 minutes. If I was able to farm during that same time and didn't have to camp the Auction House for pictures then it would be a total of 6496g in 30 minutes (add in an extra 80g if I actually counted vendor trash in my totals). Now, 6496g in 30 minutes would come out to... But, I am not going to stop there, I will continue with two more sets of pictures to get a nice solid average of what you can expect to make from the Auction House every 10 minutes. As for my next set of pictures, a lot of goodies managed to sell in 10 minutes, let's start off with the very first set of items that sold... At the start of this 10 minute cycle I started to sell a little bit of Frostweave, then my Netherweave buyer logged on and cleared every piece of Netherweave that I had up on the Auction House, which wasn't much this time around. This was a small amount of money gained compaired to what sold next... More Netherweave is sold in this picture, which is all of the Netherweave that I put up on the Auction House. Also at the end here I sell a Mighty Intellect enchant which is a massive amount of gold when that bad boy sells. I had to wait a little bit inbetween the Mighty Intellect sale and the Embersilk Cloth sales of the next picture... One thing that I mention in my guide is to announce when you put something on the Auction House, which I actually did announce that I had Embersilk Cloth up for sale (dirt cheap prices I said) because Embersilk is selling for 70g a stack atm on my server. Which is just too insane of a price for me to bother even asking for so what I am selling it for in this picture is pretty much a steal. In this picture I sell a ton of Volatile Life, pretty much all I gathered earlier in the day from Vashj'ir farming. I probably could have gotten more for it but there wasn't a single piece of Volatile Life up on the Auction House when I put those up, so I just wanted them to sell extremely fast for slightly above the price I know I can usually get for them. I started to type up my guide for these 10 minutes but then I had some Potions of Tol'vir sell. They didn't really make me a lot of money but they are worth factoring into the totals since every gold counts! I figured that would be it for my sales this time around but I was wrong, when I tabbed back into the game I realized that I had even more that sold! The Potions of Tol'vir are repeats in that picture but the other 4 items are the final things that sold before the 10minutes was concluded. The Zephyrite's were part of the Jewelcrafting Daily that day and Chimera's Eye is what I turn my Jewelcrafter's Tokens in for to sell. With that being the entire 10 minute period, let's look at the totals for how much I made!
Now, for the final set of pictures... This set of sales started with Obsidium Ore not to long after I did the above pictures for all those sales. I was a wee bit slow to snap pictures of them, as you can see they are already 4 minutes into the sale, so we will start our 10 minute timer with only 6 minutes remaining. Someone scooped up every single stack of Obsidium Ore that I had on the Auction House, the 9 stacks in the above picture followed by the 4 stacks in the picture below. The 5th stack in the picture below is a repeat, that is why it is highlighted to prevent any confusion. (Hey, I'm, not trying to lie or mislead you here)! While I was uploading the pictures two stacks of Large Brilliant Shards sold, giving me another nice profit. The stacks of Large Brilliant Shards in the picture below are both repeats of the picture above, so if you're adding everything up with me, don't bother counting them! After the Large Brilliant Shard sales someone started to scoop up all the Embersilk Cloth that I had left on the Auction House. That completely covers the final 10 minutes of my Auction House proof section. Now, if you don't sell as much as me every 10 minutes don't get discouraged. Sometimes I will sell 5,000g worth of stuff in 5 minutes and another time I may sell that much over the course of 5 hours. The thing to keep in mind is that no matter what it will generally always equal out to be right around 10k an hour even if you make 2k for 4 hours in a row then 20k for the next 5 hours when everyone starts logging on. Anyway, let's look at the total that I made from these 10 minutes and then the grand total for the entire 50 minutes that I documented of my Auction House sales.
That is the last 10 minute total that I am documenting for this guide. As you can see this was another really good 10 minutes using the Auction House, which should give you the impression that this is rather common to happen. Just if something like this doesn't happen every 10 minutes, don't give up. Keep trying and I promise you the one time you hit big with the Auction House and everything else, use that number and average it out across when things didn't sell and you'll get your 10k an hour (If not more).
Now, I proved not only over 10k gold in less than an hour, I proved over 10k gold without even farming while waiting for the auctions to sell. Notice I am not renaming this guide at all either, after proving this total without any way for anyone to dispute it. This is because I am pretty much the master at making gold. Breaking 10k an hour might not be typical for you, especially if your server population is extremely low. However, if your server population is extremely high then it might be stupidly easy to make well over 10k an hour. Factor in how much gold I can make from the Auction House in 60 minutes followed by how much gold I can make in an hour while farming, I generally push around 15k an hour! By the way, incase it matters, the numbers above average out to 2100g every 10 minutes from the Auction House.
12/12/11 Well there is nothing better to do right now than sit back and update the front page of my site.. I've been stuck on hold with Gamestop for 30 minutes now trying to get a problem worked out with my swtor preorder key. They didn't give me the key when I went in person on 9/12 so I am now stuck waiting to talk to customer support over the phone to get my key. I honestly doubt after this long wait they are even going to give it to me... I expect to hear some bullcrap like how they're out of keys to give or something like that. I'll admit it will be pretty lame if they can't give me a key, the few days I would get with the headstart would be crucial in getting swtor guides up faster than everyone else, especially a leveling guide, which I know a lot of people would be highly interested in... Plus not to mention it just being more psychologically satisfying starting a few days before a lot of other players. Grr argh, I hate doing stuff like this. 45 minutes on hold now and my phone is about to die. - I hate christmas time.. 12/8/11 I'm happy to announce that I have finally finished quite a bit of the Swtor guides and I have added them onto the left hand Nav bar on my website. There is still a lot of work to be done on many of the guides but as of right now they are still a terrific source of information on the game. I know I have been slacking the past few days and what not on getting a lot of these guides done but no more! To save myself some time so I can get back to work on my Swtor guides, I am copy and pasting the post I have been creating on a few different forums to spread around my Swtor Guides. Of course you can just get to the guides on the left hand side of my website but some people prefer direct links. For those people, here is the post! ____________________ Hey everyone! I created a thread awhile back about making some guides for Swtor, I showed the few that I had done already and mentioned I was going to be working on many many more over the next few weeks leading up to release. Anyway, the purpose of this thread is to show you guys the guides which I have gotten done and to talk a little more about what I will be working on the next few days. First, let's start with my Swtor Getting Started Guides. This page is the one I have gotten the most work done on so far. If you don't feel like heading over to that page directly, here are the guides I have completed so far. Quick Travel Locations and Taxi Terminals I have all of my class guides done right now as well. The only thing that is still unfinished with them is they need some pictures and to be polished over. Specifically the republic/empire pages need more information but the class pages are almost all done. That is it for the Swtor Getting Started Guides, next up I have my Swtor leveling guides. It is still extremely unfinished and I am going to be adding a ton of basic information to it over the next few days. I obviously can't give you a full on leveling guide yet, but I will add in a lot of information that will help you level quicker. Sides that, all that is left are my Swtor Profession Guides - and then my Swtor Farming Guides Both of them still need a lot of work and I will be updating them a bit before the game goes live and then a ton once Swtor comes out. If you have any questions, comments or would like to see something added to my website please post here or toss me an email or private message. Hope you enjoy the guides! 12/7/11 I've been feeling a bit lazy recently, I haven't even gotten around to uploading the videos from the Swtor final beta. I still got a few gameplay videos of my Jedi Consular as well as some videos of the very final thing Bioware organzied in beta, which was the dance party in both captial cities, one in whatever the republic town is and one in the empire town. I didn't find the dance party that interesting, but hey, how interesting can you actually find a "dance party"? To answer your questions about the dancing in swtor, each race does not have a really unique dance like it does in WoW, sadly. Hopefully later today I will be able to upload some of those videos to youtube as well as get around to working on my swtor guides a bit more than I have been recently... So far the only thing I am kinda missing in the swtor guides is the class guides, which I have been working on a lot on getting done asap. So far most of the empire class guides are done, I just need to get a lot of work done on the republic guides and then I will be almost in the clear for all of the guides I need to write before swtor goes live. If you're worried about me getting done in time, don't be. Fear not for Almar will get done all of the guides in time! 12/5/11 Not much has changed with me over the past 4 days. I got a new laptop, it's an Asus and so far so good for me. My only complaint about it thus far is the battery does not seem to last anymore than 2hrs regardless of what I am doing. I've let it just sit there and the battery expired at the same rate it would if I was doing stuff on it. I'll have to configure some options with it, especially if I plan to take this to school and actually have it on long enough to take some notes. Doubt they would let me sit next to an outlet or something crazy like that. Anyway, really all that's left which I wanted to talk about or say is... today is the last official day of SWTOR's beta. I'm in it right now, not online right now though because I'm upstairs watching the football game with the laptop on my lap. P.S I don't like football. I will be uploading a bunch of videos for swtor later tomorrow or sometime this week though. I've made a few with my Jedi Consular which is level 15 right about now. Oh yeah, here is something else I can talk about... I wanted to kind of review swtor, but not go into super depth. One thing I wanted to answer for a lot of people that ask is... How long does it take to level up in swtor? It takes about the same amount of time to level in swtor as it took in classic wow. So, about 5 - 7 days to hit max level playing hardcore with 0 knowledge of the quests. And about 2 - 3 weeks if you're going casually. How is the pvp in swtor? I've found it enjoyable thus far. It reminds me more of WAR than it does WoW when it comes to pvp... Which I actually enjoy since I feel WAR had a better pvp system (not combat system though) than WoW. As you kill enemies and win Warzones you will gain Valor Points which factor into your Valor XP. Valor levels allow you to use certain ranks of the pvp gear. At least that is how I understand the system so far. The only downside of pvp in swtor that I have come across is the controls, combat system and bugs. The controls feel a bit clunky to me and they are sometimes difficult to get a hang of depending on what you're doing. I really wish on my Jedi Knight that I could set my main spam button to also target the closest target, but you can't. Also, I wish the game was as responsive as WoW. I feel that when playing swtor the game doesn't respond to my key hits as quickly as say WoW would. I'll spam a skill and will have to wait 5 seconds for it to go off (that is of course only if another skill animation is currently going on. If you're just running right along and you hit a skill it will go off immediately.... P.S it's not lag I am talking about. So don't you roll your eyes at me. 12/1/11 Well today is the first official day of December. It's almost Christmas already, pretty hard to believe isn't it? I've been spending the past few days doing nothing else really but playing WoW and updating my website for swtor in 19 days now. I'm really trying to get these swtor guides done quickly so I can have them up and running even before launch. Here is the brief amount of work I've gotten done on them so far. You can watch this page progress too if you're interested in doing that type of thing. Anyway, I'm going to link to a few of my PvP videos for swtor so a friend can find them easier and just because I haven't shown them on the front page of my website yet.
