E.V.O.: The Search for Eden is a 2D action-adventure game developed by Almanic Corporation and published by Enix for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). It was first released in Japan in 1992, and then later in North America in 1993. In the game, the player controls a creature, which starts off as a fish, and must evolve by consuming food and defeating enemies to gain Evolution Points (EP). These EPs can then be used to purchase body parts that allow the creature to evolve into new forms with new abilities, such as the ability to fly or breathe fire.

The game takes place over several periods in Earth's history, from the Cambrian period to the present day, and the ultimate goal is to evolve the creature to the point where it can reach the Garden of Eden and become a god. Along the way, the player must battle other creatures and bosses, solve puzzles, and explore various environments. E.V.O.: The Search for Eden is known for its unique gameplay mechanics and creative approach to evolution, as well as its engaging storyline and memorable characters. It has since become a cult classic and is considered one of the most unique and innovative games for the SNES.
