Iridion 3D was developed by the video game company "Shin'en Multimedia." The game was released for the Gameboy Advance portable game console in North America on June 11, 2001, and in Europe on September 21.
When Earth is spontaneously attacked by aliens known as "Iridion," the player must adventure into space to stop the Iridion's plans. The player must go from the home base to the planet and destroy its mainframe to keep it from destroying anything else.
On Iridion's release, the game received mixed reviews. Generally, the sound and graphics were praised and a year after its release TechTV critics still stated that it was the best looking game on the platform, and despite the general population's mediocre reception upon the title's release, Iridion 3D ended up as a financial success.
