Everquest Planes of Power Leveling Guide

Well lets face it, you probably already know exactly what to do for the first 15 levels in this game. I would expect this definitely isn't your first rodeo! Planes of Power nor the following expansions offer any more lower level zones for you so you're stuck with what you've had in Luclin and before that. Crushbone is good until 10 as is Kurns. Then once you're level 10 you have Paludal which would be the most social route to go and would require you to be a boxer or twinked.

The more antisocial route for you to go would be Unrest or just stick to your local noob zones. Pretty much every noob zone can go to at least 10 and then has a zone right next to it that would take you to 15. This would be the best route for avoiding people. Or you could check out much older spots like Befallen or once you're in the teens even Unrest!

PoP Leveling Guide 15 - 25

There are two options to take during this level range, if you're a boxer or want some antisocial locations (meaning you'll see few people) I recommend going to Ocean of Tears. The undead/goblin isles are usually always empty and you can finish the levels there without seeing too many people. For more groupable locations I recommend Paludal Caverns. The back entrance of Paludal (from hollowshade) would be good for soloing while waiting LFG or with a lower level group.

Also for 10 - 18 in Kunark you have Kurn's Tower. You can also do Unrest or Befallen/Najena - most of the classic zones won't have many people in them which is perfect for boxers. For those LFG and wanting to be social I highly recommend you stick to more current content

OoT Undead

Lavastorm Mountains (Boxer/small group)

Crushbone (Group/Solo/Boxer) - Of course Crushbone can still be worth your time during this level range. Admittedly you'll be getting a bit high level for the place but if you group up in the throne room I am sure you'll make some lower level players day!

Paludal Caverns (Group/Solo/Boxer) Social Zone - The entrance of Paludal Caverns from Hollowshade Moors has mobs in the low teens that progressively get harder the closer you get to the Shadowhaven zoneline. A lot of lower level players come here and solo in hopes of getting into a bandit group. It may be worth your time to check it out! There's a lot of single pulls of mushrooms and bugs to keep you occupied if no one else is around

PoP Leveling Guide 25 - 35

For the late 20s I highly recommend you visit up The Overthere and try and get a group. Aside from Overthere, - City of Mist is usually really good during the Kunark era. Those are the two zones I recommend for grouping, if you're soloing or a boxer Mistmoore will be good if you have the gear or ability to control/handle adds. Upper guk/early Lguk too. A solo player will want to stick to smokes in lavastorm or soloing in a more open Kunark zone like Dreadlands or Overthere.

Also the closer you get to 30 the more you can start to ease your way into Velious. Check out Crystal Caverns for one of the easier zones as well as Tower of Frozen Shadow, although that may be more annoying than rewarding for the average player.

Be wary in The Overthere at night as guards walk around and will slaughter you if they see you!

Lavastorm Basilisks Location

Crypt of Dalnir (Dungeon Crawl) antisocial zone - This zone has an amazing ZEM (Zone Experience Modifier) meaning it will give you more than average XP per kill making it great to level in. The mobs at the zone in are in the lower 30s and it gets progressively harder as you go. Bring a group with you or your own boxes as this zone is seldom traversed. Don't count on finding a group here.

Lake of Ill Omen (Soloers/Boxers/Groups/Kiters) - You have tons of room to kite + actual camps here. Can also work on your Howling Stones key via Jade Chokadai Prod

Crystal Caverns (Group/Boxer) semi-antisocial zone - This zone will calm down a bit in Luclin and even more in PoP, depending on your era you may or may not have trouble finding a group here. The zone is split into two areas, the orcs and their pit then the dungeon near the town.

Tower of Frozen Shadow (Dungeon Crawl) Groups/Boxers - Second Floor is a great place for this level range and I am told arguably the best. In order to go up different floors in the Tower of Frozen Shadow you'll need to first collect the key from the floor that you're on. I honestly am quite ignorant about the zone but if you're willing to learn how it works and group up here the XP is apparently quite rewarding.

Marus Seru (Field Killing) Social/group/boxer - This location is pretty good for this level range, especially if you want to find a group. There's very commonly people here. If you are a boxer or soloer LFG the best advice I can give is everything here is social!! Be careful when pulling and where you kite.

Upper Guk (Dungeon Crawl) moderately antisocial/boxer - Great for boxers/groups, solo players I would recommend you find a better place!

Castle Mistmoore (Dungeon Crawl) group/antisocial/boxer - This location is a pretty nice dungeon crawl in this level range. Be careful going past the graveyard though unless you have out of group PL help. It can get messy quick past the GY as the mobs suddenly spike in level

Dreadlands - (Field Killing) Boxers/Groups/Kiters/Solo antisocial zone - **Come here in your mid 30s at the earliest** My favorite location to kill in Dreadlands is just to the east of Karnor's Castle. The zoneline as well as the giant castle itself, the field that is between the zoneline to Firiona Vie and Karnor's Castle is primarily where I pull from. There is a huge level difference on the monsters out here, I think something like a level 10 spread but it is really easy going and good XP during this level range. You can always pull singles and you can pull them back far enough to where nothing will agro you while fighting. There is also plenty of room to kite.

PoP Leveling Guide 35 - 45

City of Mist (Dungeon Crawl) Boxers/Groups social zone - This zone is great for this level range, simply amazing honestly for both boxers and groupers alike. The zone is pretty big and there are plenty of pickings to go around. There's some decent loot here too such as Ornate Rune Shield and Slimy Green Ring.

Lower Guk (Dungeon Crawl/Camp) - Groups/Boxers antisocial zone - It's now a perfect time for you to learn camps like Mithril Runed Tunic, Shining Metallic Robes, Flowing Black Silk Sash, and the zone!

The Overthere (SF Ramp) Boxers/Groups/Kiters - On the south side of The Overthere there's a ramp that is pretty famous for grouping at. You have a ton of mobs to pull and it is relatively safe hunting here except at night when evil guards from the outpost patrol around and kill anyone they don't like. The loot here isn't the best but the XP isn't bad until you reach the low 30s.

Ocean of Tears (Cyclops) - Groups/Boxers/Solo - This is one of my favorite locations for 35 - 42(45). The cyclops here are very easy, they don't hit very hard at all and they can drop some profitable loot. There's a rare chance for an ancient cyclops to spawn in the place of any other cyclops on the isle who drops Ring of the Ancients. The ring is used in the Jboots quest.

Karnor's Castle (Dungeon Crawl) Boxers/Groups antisocial zone - This zone can be a total nightmare if you plan to pull to a camp. As far as a dungeon crawl though, it is pretty standard of a zone. The ZEM is fairly good and the mobs here can be fairly squishy. They also commonly drop raw plat which makes up for the lack of vendor trash. Monks can do Karnor's Pipe here for their epic and casters can farm an Extended Range 3 focus off a nearby mob.

Dreadlands - Boxers/Groups/Kiters/Solo, antisocial zone (Mostly field killing) - My favorite location to kill in Dreadlands is just to the east of Karnor's Castle.

Temple of Droga (Dungeon Crawl) - Boxers/Groups, antisocial zone

Crystal Caverns (Dungeon Crawl) - Boxers/Groups/Social - This is a fairly commonly traversed zone in this level range and if you're a solo player this should be one of the zones you "swing through" while LFG. The zone can be a bit of a maze and confuse you if you're not fully accustomed to it, but it can be very rewarding XP wise for lower level players.

Velketor's Labyrinth - Dungeon Crawl - Group/Boxer The Icepaw family makes this zone pretty profitable to camp considering they drop Spider Fur Belt, Collar, Cloak fairly regularly, even the trash kobolds. Each of the named kobolds has their own loot table, some items good, some not so good. Lute of the Howler is the main item that stands out at the kobolds. Either way, you should be seeing a lot of bazaar sellables if you spend some time here.

PoP Leveling Guide 45 - 55

Old Sebilis (Dungeon Crawl) - Boxers/Groups, social + antisocial zone - This is some of the best XP you can get in the game for Kunark the juggs also will make you rich. For 6 - 12 boxers I strongly recommend this zone as a dungeon crawl experience.

The whole right wing (where Disco 1 + 2 is) is great for lower level boxers/groups in here. The left wing is about the same as the disco area in both XP and loot. The center area (Crypt) is generally always camped and isn't the best XP - mostly nameds. You will also need a Bard or Rogue in order to pick the door for Crypt. Some loot you'll be interested in that drops from Old Seb is... Box of Nil Space, Cone of the Mystics, Froglok Bonecaster's Robe, Obulus Death Shroud, Hierophant's Cloak, Runebranded Girdle.

The "underneath" part of old seb, juggs, myoconids, that's where the money/fun is at. Once you're 55+ you should venture down here and camp the King or protector/tolpumaj

Chardok (Dungeon Crawl) - Boxers/Groups, antisocial zone - This is a dungeon crawl type zone for boxers and or groups. This zone is huge and there is a ton of different nameds and loot for you to get. The deeper you go into the zone to the north or south the harder it gets. At 60 the entrance area will be Light blue to you but most of the harder nameds that drop the best loot will still be Dark Blue. I am going to seperate the loot list for Chardok into two sections, one good for smaller boxers/groups and the other for larger boxers/groups

Good Loot in the Light Blue section of Chardok: Fancy Velvet Mantle, Girdle of Flayed Iksar, Shroud of Undeath, Shai'din Revenant Bauble, Crypt Master's Conjuring Stone, Earring of Twisted Leaves and others

Good Loot in the Harder section of Chardok: Vibrating Gauntlets of Infuse, Incarnadine Breastplate, Incarnadine Greaves, Pearly Sarnak Bauble, Writ of Di'zok and other goodies.

Burning Woods - Boxers/Groups/Kiters/Solo, social zone - great and wide open for kiters; not only that but this zone is a hotspot for people 50 - 54. If you are in this level range and here you ... here comes the double negative ... can't not find a group!

Ocean of Tears (Elite Goblin Isle) - Boxers/Groups, antisocial zone (This place will be so desolate at the launch of Kunark that it's probably one of the best locations for just being left alone)

Skyfire Mountains (Solo Dragons) - Boxers/Kiters, social zone - good for kiters and the dragons also have a chance of dropping Kunark spells which can be very valuable

The Hole (Dungeon Crawl) - Boxers/Groups, antisocial zone . Not many people will venture here in kunark - small boxers can do the elementals/rock golems which drop Loam Encrusted Gear. If the elementals and golems are a piece of cake for you and your group I recommend checking out the named that drops Idol of the Underking in the jail and the undead which are in the castle. The undead drop withered which sells for about the same as the loam gear does.

Howling Stones (Dungeon Crawl) - Boxers/Groups, antisocial zone. There are no set named spawn locations really in this zone either, they can spawn randomly throughout the wings. Also to correct a few mistakes on the internet Enshrouded Veil, Golden Bracer, Stein of Tears, Melodious Truncheon are all zone wide rare items, they don't drop off of nameds or out of any specific wing. I am 100% sure on this. Although the Truncheon is MUCH more common off golems than any other mob I have found.

South wing is the most profitable to farm because of Hand of the Reaper and Fingerbone Hoop.

Siren's Grotto - (Dungeon Crawl) Group/Boxer Fellspine + lots of velious quest gems and Tradeskill gems. Both of which you can vendor for an insane amount of plat for how many drop- There are a few good camps in Siren's Grotto, one of the best would be Fellspine for his Spiked Seahorse Hide Belt. You'll be able to net a pretty penny for the belt for awhile to come. The zonewide ink that drops here is worth keeping to sell in the bazaar. Drums of the Beast, Sleeves of the Kelpmaidens, and other goodies drop here too!

Dragon Necropolis - Boxer/Antisocial zone - The Phase Spiders here are fairly easy to kill and they all have a chance of dropping a Phase Spider Carapace which you could sell or use. Also there is a named Phase Spider in the eastern part of the zone, Queen Raltaas. She is very hard and drops Queen's Carapace. In the southern part of the zone you have snakes which is where Vilefang is and then you also have the Chetari rats which drop a few semi valuable things depending on your economy.

PoP Leveling Guide 55 - 60

Plane of Justice (Dungeon Crawl) Small Group/boxer/Solo - PoJ is one of the starter zones in PoP. Other zones in PoP offer better loot and XP however this zone is quite easy and generally has a decent amount of people in during this era. If you're LFG and unable to be of use in later elemental planes, try here first!

Plane of Nightmare (Field Killing) Small Group/boxer/solo kiting - This is a great zone for groups who don't have any of the primary roles. If you're without heals, tank or CC this zone is fairly solo friendly, much more than other PoP zones. It has a decent amount of room to kite and root rot adds if needed.

PoP Leveling Guide 60 - 65

Plane of Fire (Field Killing) Solo Kiting/Boxer - PoF is a large zone with enough space for there to be all kinds of different groups. You can kite around the tables by in C2 if you're looking for a wide open area and a solo friendly area. Or you can grab a group/box your own group and setup in C1 or C2 and have a more Dungeon Crawl experience. Depending on your group it's entirely up to you. Also, PoFire is arguably the best exp zone in all of PoP
