Old Sebilis AA Grinding Guide

Old Seblilis is one of the most recognized zones in the game for two reasons, one of them is amazing XP and the second is amazing loot. Both of which you're guaranteed to get while you're here. I spent most of my late 50s and early 60s grinding out massive amounts of AAs here while making a giant profit off of all the loot I was getting as well. Gems are going to be your biggest vendor money makers while the Defiant Gear and all the Cultural items you will want to be selling in The Bazaar.

Old Seb is a giant zone, mostly filled with Frogloks but the farther you go in the more different types of mobs you will find. Towards the bottom of the zone you will find mushroom men mixed in with golems. The mushroom men have a ton of HP and also certain mushrooms will cast a Complete Heal when they or their fellow mushroom men get low on health. Along with the mushroom men, the Sebilite Golems which can be found in the far bottom of Old Sebilis are a great source of spells for players looking for any missing spells. The golems here have even more HP than the mushroom men and hit even harder.

Now, even though the golems are so much harder to kill and hit harder they do not give any more XP than the Froglok's of equal level upstairs, which means killing the golems down here is pretty much a complete waste of your time unless you have a different agenda. The reason the bottom end of Old Sebilis is so difficult is because during the Kunark era it was a commonly known raid area. Trakanon is the main boss that spawns down here and now adays is farmed for various pieces of loot which are still useful to this day. Below is a map of the area of Old Seb that you will want to stay in.

NOTE: The only way to get to Trakanon and the mushroom men are through the under water "caves". If you avoid going through them then you'll never have to worry about running into the mushroom men.

It is hard to see the map because the genius that made it used the same color as the background. However it will give you a general idea of where you should stay when roaming around Old Seb. As I said earlier, avoid the water and you'll be fine. Depending on how long you decide to stay in Old Seb you'll need to be selective with what loot you pick up. I recommend picking up all the gems you find and also the Nodding Blue Lillys to sell in The Bazaar.

You can discard any of the "Words of" that you find since they aren't worth that much, even though they do stack. However you'll want to save the "Grubby" research materials since these are worth a pretty penny in The Bazaar. Aside from the items I just listed save the space in your inventory for Defiant gear or whatever other goodies you may find. During your adventures through Old Seb you'll find quite a few different named mobs, below is a list of each of the nameds you'll find.

Froglok Bok Mystic
Froglok Krup Protector
Froglok Commander

There are more nameds then what is listed above but they are mostly in rooms far away from the entrance and much deeper in then you'll be adventuring. If you're curious as to some of the loot you'll be finding in Old Seb below is a list of different drops.
